Several of you assured me that I would love my Barn Sweater, remarking that you wear yours all the time. And it’s true, I love it! I finished it just in time for actual winter temperatures to arrive, and I’ve been wearing it constantly. I’m so glad that I used Beaverslide wool to knit it. It’s sturdy and warm, and I know it will hold up to lots of wear. I had been saving a set of WoolyMossRoots black walnut buttons for I don’t know how long, three years maybe, and was so happy as I sewed them on. I think they suit this sweater just perfectly.
But, there was one little thing that I couldn’t and didn’t take into account when I began this sweater last summer…
My Barn Sweater doesn’t quite fit in the middle because we are expecting a new little one in late June! We’re pretty excited. BABY!!! You might think that it gets to be routine after so many, but it doesn’t. I can hardly believe it. And that is despite the fact that we already know the sex of this little one.

Oh my word! You just made my day! You REALLY made my day Ginny! Congratulations to you and your family a hundred times over! I really was thinking that you may have been ‘done’ after Job with all your pelvic and back pain problems and I was inwardly lamenting the fact. hehehe. Because you all are wonderful parents and any babies that you produce are incredibly blessed to have you in their lives- and we need more people in this world like that. Growing up in loving, creative, good and faithful homes.
We just had a baby two weeks ago after waiting for 5 years to see if the Lord would give us one. (wanna see? http://www.zeahrenaissance.blogspot.com) This baby is number 5 and everyone asks if she was a surprise. I tell them that she was- because I had almost given up hope that the Lord would bless me again- and that always takes people by surprise! 😉 Yes, indeed, new babies are never routine. That little soul inside you is a whole new LIFE that has just been created but one in which the Lord knows every little jot and tittle about. What a magnificent thing to think about. What a gift!
