His big day

20140111-29_D6N_2822-1

Sebastian Job Amadeus was baptized on January 11, 2014.  Welcome to the Church, little soul!

p.s.  Photos by Lori Elizabeth (thank you Lori!!) and blanket, in case someone is wondering,  from G. H. Hurt. & Son  (Thank you Andy and Parveen!–Godparents!)

p.p.s. I think Fr. R likes his mitts! It felt like a knitting triumph, especially because we really love him and I put a lot of thought into what to knit for him, and what color.

Lovely photos of your baby’s baptism. May God bless his life. I think the shawl/scarf you are wearing is beautiful and I am wondering if you knit it yourself and what the pattern is called. I am a beginning knitter and it is probably beyond my capabilities at this point, but I sure would like to try!

Oh Ginny, what a joyous baptismal day for Job! You have some lovely photos to help remember. I see a strong resemblance to Lark in the first photo of Job in your post. And it’s obvious that Fr. loves his mitts! xxxxx

    Dear Ginny,
Such beautiful pictures….such a lovely family.
Your scarf is beautiful….can you tell me what pattern it is? I looked on Ravelry but I’m not sure if it is from that site? Would love to make one.
    All the best!!!

Thank you for sharing, what a wonderful day! I like a relaxed Catholic priest 🙂 (I am Catholic myself and have experienced a lot of different ones…) I especially enjoyed seeing your church, I love coloured glass windows and also the Christmas decoration!

I had to giggle a the photo where he’s screaming as the water is poured on his head. None of likes to have the “old adam” drowned, and yet we’re always so much happier once it’s over.

    Welcome to the family, Job!

Awwww!! Three of my kids have Jesus’ baptismal day as theirs too (we came back to the church after they were babies)!!

How lucky that boy is! I wish I had the experience of seeing my baby babies baptized. Lucky mama!!

Does his head still smell like the clove (is it clove?) oil?

Glory to God in the highest!

Yesterday we brought supper out to a family in our church that just had a baby. On the way there, my 8 year old son said, did we miss his baptism? I said, no, he just got home from the hospital. He hasn’t been baptized yet. My son said, “Whew! I hate missing baptisms. It’s like you see God do a miracle for a little baby right before your eyes!!” I love his prospective on everything!

    Welcome to the Church, Job!

Ginny, my brother and I were baptized at this same church about 30 years ago. The stained glass windows and the chairs behind the altar clued me in. What wonderful renovations they have made! It’s so much brighter!
