Sebastian Job Amadeus was baptized on January 11, 2014. Welcome to the Church, little soul!
p.s. Photos by Lori Elizabeth (thank you Lori!!) and blanket, in case someone is wondering, from G. H. Hurt. & Son (Thank you Andy and Parveen!–Godparents!)
p.p.s. I think Fr. R likes his mitts! It felt like a knitting triumph, especially because we really love him and I put a lot of thought into what to knit for him, and what color.

Lovely pictures and happy people, but hey that water was cold, right Job? Blessings to the whole family!
Lovely photos of your baby’s baptism. May God bless his life. I think the shawl/scarf you are wearing is beautiful and I am wondering if you knit it yourself and what the pattern is called. I am a beginning knitter and it is probably beyond my capabilities at this point, but I sure would like to try!
Absolutely beautiful!
I LOVE the photo of Beatrix with the priest. The others are wonderful too, but that one is my favorite.
Oh Ginny, what a joyous baptismal day for Job! You have some lovely photos to help remember. I see a strong resemblance to Lark in the first photo of Job in your post. And it’s obvious that Fr. loves his mitts! xxxxx
God bless you all. Thank you for those fabulous pics. 🙂
Welcome to the family, little Job! I especially love the pictures of Beatrix and Father. What love <3.
Dear Ginny,
Such beautiful pictures….such a lovely family.
Your scarf is beautiful….can you tell me what pattern it is? I looked on Ravelry but I’m not sure if it is from that site? Would love to make one.
All the best!!!
Love Janice
Beautiful, Ginny!
Bless you all! Loved seeing your amazing handknits in almost every photo and you can tell your priest loves his special gift to commemorate the beautiful occasion. Your family is precious and so are the people you surround yourself with…..so much joy in all the photos. Thanks for sharing.
What a pretty church — I love the stained glass and Christmas lights – what a wonderful day for baby Job!
I love the picture of Fr. R and Beatrix.
Such a joyous occasion!
Thank you for sharing, what a wonderful day! I like a relaxed Catholic priest 🙂 (I am Catholic myself and have experienced a lot of different ones…) I especially enjoyed seeing your church, I love coloured glass windows and also the Christmas decoration!
Love all of the pictures, but that last one is great!
I had to giggle a the photo where he’s screaming as the water is poured on his head. None of likes to have the “old adam” drowned, and yet we’re always so much happier once it’s over.
Welcome to the family, Job!
Wonderful! Congratulations, Job!
Beautiful celebration, beautiful baby, beautiful mama, and beautiful family–congratulations!
This made me teary….so lovely!
Awwww!! Three of my kids have Jesus’ baptismal day as theirs too (we came back to the church after they were babies)!!
How lucky that boy is! I wish I had the experience of seeing my baby babies baptized. Lucky mama!!
Does his head still smell like the clove (is it clove?) oil?
Glory to God in the highest!
Absolutely beautiful. Your family’s joy just radiates from these pictures and your priest seems so kind and loving toward you all. He definitely looks like he likes the mitts! Thank you for sharing this important day with your readers. You’ve moved me to tears. Happy ones, of course. 😉
God Bless little Job! Just beautiful Ginny.
beautiful all around!
Wow, beautiful pictures of a beautiful day all wrapped up in a shawl fit for a Royal Prince, if I’m not mistaken. 😀
Beautiful photos of a truly special moment! Thanks for sharing.
That may just be the most beautiful baptism ceremony I’ve ever seen – the church, the people, the joy, all of it.
Such a wonderful, happy event. I smiled the whole time. You all look beautiful and proud. Father R looks like such a sweet man! I’m glad he loves his mitts.
What a happy day! Yeah for baby Job! Thanks for sharing such a special family moment.
Perfect in every way…thanks for sharing!!
oh so happy! What beutiful pictures. Welcome to the church little one!
Yesterday we brought supper out to a family in our church that just had a baby. On the way there, my 8 year old son said, did we miss his baptism? I said, no, he just got home from the hospital. He hasn’t been baptized yet. My son said, “Whew! I hate missing baptisms. It’s like you see God do a miracle for a little baby right before your eyes!!” I love his prospective on everything!
Welcome to the Church, Job!
Ginny, my brother and I were baptized at this same church about 30 years ago. The stained glass windows and the chairs behind the altar clued me in. What wonderful renovations they have made! It’s so much brighter!
Your shawl is beautiful as well! 🙂
God bless your sweet baby & your family! Welcome to the church baby Job!
Lovely!
Many years to the newly baptised!!!! Congratulations!! I am so happy for you all! What lovely pictures, a lovely blanket and gown, and way to go on those knitted mitts; what a bright and beautiful day!! May God bless you all richly!
How beautiful! Every picture was perfect. I think he likes his mitts, too. Love his smile in the last picture. I hope you have a great week.
Such a lovely ceremony, lovely pictures!
Congratulations little Job. xxx
Beautiful!
Baptism during the Christmas season makes for extra beautiful pictures. Love your idea of wearing your shawls as scarves. Gives me an excuse to knit one now.
Lovely photos, everyone looks so happy. Congrats little Job!
Beautiful pictures! Job looks a lot like his siblings.
Welcome to the church, sweet boy!
I am not Catholic, but most of my husband’s family is, so we have attended various mass services with them. I love the baptismal services! I think they make me cry more than weddings! You all have a beautiful family and we are so glad you share it with us! 🙂 ps. Ginny, your hair is so shiny!
Beautiful photos! What a blessed day….welcome to the church sweet baby Job!
I so enjoyed being at the baptism, thank you!
Just beautiful. My husband and I are coming into the church this Easter.
And I have to know what pattern your shawl is I love it!
Blessings.
Congratulations! Welcome to the Church, sweet baby Job!
God bless him! What beautiful pictures! Your priest looks like an amazing guy, so gentle and loving with your children. Welcome to the family of God, Job!
Thank you so much for these pictures. Every single one is a treasure! There is so much joy in this post, I’ll visit again today just to smile some more. 🙂
