After working on those little lace repeats for a couple of months, I finally finished my scroll lace scarf last weekend. The back and forth knitting once you finish the lace works up really quickly.
I love this pattern, and love the Orange Flower Yarn that I used (MCN light sport in Copper.) I loved laughing while Jonny tried to help me arrange the scarf to cover my protruding belly button while he took these photos, saying “You don’t want anyone asking about your third nipple.” No, of course not. (Thanks, Jonny!)
As a matter of fact, I did have an elderly librarian recently approach me pointing to my belly button, saying, “They never tell you that’s going to happen…” I just laughed and said, “No they don’t!” not being the type to discuss things like that with strangers typically and finding it all kind of hilarious.

I am in LOVE with that scarf, and aren’t you just positively gorgeous!!! I think I have some yarn that would knit that up beautifully, so I’m going to give it a try. Thanks!
Barbara says
That scarf looks gorgeous on your beautiful pregnant belly!

My friend Laura used to joke that the belly button was like those things that pop out to tell you when a turkey’s done cooking. My belly button has never popped out, though. I have a really deep innie—my husband has always joked that it’s bottomless. 😉
You look so beautiful! Also for the second time today, I’m thinking I need some blocking boards.

Oh my gosh…too funny! I love the scarf – I’m still such a knitting newbie; all I have managed is a couple of dishcloths and an easy cowl. This is definitely something to work for 🙂 I absolutely love the pictures of you and your basketball! (that’s what people always said to me) God bless 🙂
Lori Ann says
The scarf – pattern and color – is so beautiful! I want to knit one now! And you look so beautiful right now too – I am excited about your new baby!
Sarah says
Ack – I always felt so awkward about the belly button thing! I actually wear a lot of empire waists and long loose tunics in my pregnancies because they are more comfortable and because I always feel weird about my belly button! haha!
You are a beautiful pregnant woman. Your scarf is delightful – the color and the pattern. Such a fun post!

Love the scarf and the pictures. You look lovely. I have always found that people who wouldn’t make eye contact with you normally, will talk to you and be friendly to you when your pregnant or holding a small baby. It’s really kind of neat. Good luck.

It’s beautiful. The name October Scarf suits it well. I love it with the baby belly especially.
And this post cracked me up, hilarious. 🙂

What a lovely scarf (and pregnant momma)! The combination of pattern and color way is simply gorgeous! And too funny about the belly button; my husband calls mine “the turkey timer”: it pops when things are done baking. 🙂
Corinne says
I just love the scarf!!…love the color!!
You look beautiful….can’t wait to see that little one in your tummy
there with you and your family!…how exciting!
praying for you, Corinne

LOVE that scarf!!! You look adorable!!!!

You are so beautiful! Love that scarf on you. Johnny is too funny 🙂 I always love the third nipple look on pregnant women-I’m actually worried it won’t happen to me because my innie is so deep!! Not that you wanted to know that about me…..
I had to laugh at the first picture because I’m assuming those foam puzzle piece things are for knitting? A woman comes into the yoga studio and uses them under her mat. I always wondered what they were normally used for!
Wanda says
Gorgeous…you and the scarf! My oldest daughter had an ” outie” while pregnant and but band aids over it to hide the “nipple”. Silly!

Your lovely baby belly shows off the drape of your shawl (and the gorgeous yarn) beautifully. Thank you for sharing Jonny’s comment with us–a little chuckle before your son arrives.
And, dear lady, you are ALL baby. You look fantastic!

Hi! So I’ll admit – I don’t knit. I don’t homeschool. And I only have one (wonderful!) child. Yet I love coming here nonetheless!!
I had to post my first ever comment just to say – You are Beautiful!!!!!!!

You are a knitting machine! I love the copper.

Wait a sec. Your belly button can pop out?!
Okay, mine didn’t. And I know it can happen. I always thought it was expected, though. Also, the scarf/shawl is adorable and I do need to make another one…perhaps this will be it. Or not. We’ll see 🙂

That is hysterical! I have never had my belly button pop out like that. I’m 37 1/ weeks now and it is still “normal- looking.” 🙂 Your belly is adorable, as always, and the scarf is gorgeous!

When I was pregnant with one of my sons and that happened to me I couldn’t help thinking of those buttons they put in turkeys that pop out supposedly when the turkey is cooked. I remember saying (as I went overdue 10 days both times)…”this turkey is cooked!”. Beautiful scarf and beautiful pregnant belly, all the best to you.
