Keats noticed her darting across the busy shopping mall parking lot and into some bushes next to the road. “Look, Mommy!” I pulled the van closer and parked, then hopped out and slowly walked over, afraid she would dart into the street. She hissed at me and scooted a few feet further into the bushes when I reached for her. I called Keats from the van and he held her attention so I could grab her from behind. Grocery shopping was certainly more interesting than usual that day, and it was all very exciting for the kids. They rescued a kitten, and they get to keep her. Her name is Em-Em and we love her. Trudy, on the other hand, thinks that Em-Em is ferocious. She’s terrified, the poor dog.
I was looking at your lovely flowers above, but then saw Em Em. Such a little darling.
Love that you rescued her! She looks at home already!
So cute!
Em-em has a very alert and intelligent gaze; brains as well as beauty, in that kitten, I’d wager. 🙂
I have never seen better, cuter pictures of a kitten in my life! 🙂
Isn’t she just adorable! She reminds me of our Delilah:)
What a darling kitten. I am so glad you saved her!
So cute! We found one of our kittens when he was about 2 weeks. He is the best cat!
Oh my cuteness! What an adorable and well-loved little creature! Our dog was not terrified, but very nervous, confused and concerned about the kittens we brought home in December. Since then she has become quite the doting kitten Mama, giving them daily head washings and keeping watch that they stay off the counters and don’t scratch up the legs of my desk. (Both of which they do many, many times a day. She is not good at her self-appointed job. But very dedicated.) Enjoy your newest baby!
Cute kitten! Please do make sure to keep her out of string/yarn! As a veterinarian who has seen too many string foreign bodies in cats’ intestines, I would hate to see your kids’ little best friend end up in a bad way.
I promise to get her some proper kitty toys! We weren’t well prepared that first day. It’s been years since we had a kitten in the house!
I’m so happy for Em Em and for ya’ll too. I hope she and Trudy make friends soon.
How precious! Rescues are the very best pets. She hit the kitty jackpot! 🙂
That cat probably doesn’t understand how blessed it is to have you all as a family.
Aw, congratulations! She is the sweetest.
She’s beautiful! And what a great experience to share.
OH bless you that i such a wonderful thing to do! What a gorgeous little kitty.
She looks like my Freya cat!
That’s one lucky kitty whose life has been forever changed. We have 3 rescue dogs – they are the light of our lives. Each with its own issues, but precious to us none the less.
These pictures are way too cute!
precious!
She is cute … and lucky now !
I LOVE your little kitten!! And we are going through a similar experience right now. We have rescued an abandoned 3 week old kitten, and he is soooooo adorable! My little one has named him “Loki”. LOL! I love the pictures you have taken…and I think I should do a little blog post on my Loki too with lots of pictures. I am so happy for your kitten, and for you.
ADORABLE! We just got two free kittens from the woman who runs our co-op pick-up. She had a stray female birth kittens in her shed. They were ready to go when we went to pick up our co-op order. My kiddos LOVE them dearly. They are such sweet kittens too! And yes, all yarn must go in project bags now.
Oh my, what a cutie! It’s wonderful that you took the time and effort to rescue the poor thing.
Oh, what a sweet wee kitten! Those are some lucky kids, as well as a lucky kitten to have found a loving family.
We say YES to rescues! My mom always did too, and I believe it taught us all compassion for those in need (of the animal OR human variety). That little sweetie will be the best pet, I’ll wager…gratitude for a roof, gentle hands, regular meals! Some of our most beloved pets have been rescues. This warmed my heart!
That is exactly what I was saying to Jonny this morning! I want to be the family that would never leave a kitten in a parking lot, because I do think that teaching compassion for animals does lead to compassion for humans as well! I was 12 years old the first time my mom was in a position to say yes to rescuing an animal, for us a dog, and it was such a happy time for us!
Oh, that sounds great. I hope we can rescue something sweet some day too. Of course we have to say yes… so lovely. And your pictures are so sweet. Or is it Em-em?
We just adopted a kitten this weekend too – tho from the Compassion Club here in CT! They certainly are lively – I am looking forward to an uninterrupted night of sleep soon! Enjoy – Em-Em certainly is lucky to have all that kiddie lovin’!
Precious.
What a wonderful rescue! And poor pup….the last time I brought home a kitten my older dog (who was a sweetie and is sadly no longer with us) ended up giving her rides piggyback.
She looks exactly like our Jack Jack! Best cat ever. Our 70 lb black lab was terrified our Jack when we rescued him, as a kitten, too. Congrats!!
Oh my Cuteness! She is beautiful!
Hold on to your knitting! I see a mischievous twinkle in those eyes! Glad she found such a good home.
Yes, must be diligent with keeping things put in project bags, and must buy some proper cat toys!
She is so darn cute!!! When Chase was about 7 we had a rescue kitten & our dog (all 125) of her was terrified of her. We have video of the kitten chasing the dog around the house. So funny!!!!
She’s adorable and glad she put the dog in it’s place. Can’t wait to see the adventures she will have.
Sweet! I love how she found you 🙂 Smart kitten!
my kids are beside me SCREAMING at the cuteness!!
LOVE! Lookee that sweet face! My BFF in San Jose, CA found a kitten that looks very much like yours 2 weeks ago. I’m so happy these wee creatures are finding loving homes!
Sweet!
aw! It’s so sweet that you have room in your home and heart for a furry faithful friend 🙂
Oh, darling! One of the sweetest kittens our family ever owned was found in a parking lot as well. It’s definitely hard to resist rescuing something so sweet & furry.
Trop mignonne!! glad you got to keep her. Hope she becomes best of friends with Trudy!
She is cute. I refuse to have a litter box in my house which is why we don’t have any cats. One of my kids is allergic to cat dander so I don’t have to listen to begging when we see a litter of kittens. As a knitter, I would train her now that yarn is off limits.
How sweet! xo
Ohhh so sweet!!!
She seems our little cat Simba!!!
So pretty, I wish cats stayed that small, have fun with your new pet
She’s very sweet. We recently got a kitten and the dog tried to tree her for 48 hours. Afraid is much better! 😉
She is adorable but don’t let her play with yarn. Our cat ended up with three major surgeries after eating yarn. It got tied up in the intestines . Cats make wonderful friends!
Cuteness overload!
Awww she’s precious!
She is adorable.
