Four years

The other night, Beatrix came to me with tears in her eyes.  She asked something along the lines of, “Was I really a difficult baby?”

I answered, “Of course not, you just needed me all the time.”

She replied, “And you needed me too, right?”

Oh, yes.

Yes, I did.

Happy Birthday to our Beatrix.  She challenges us and she delights us.

She’s a gift.

Happy Birthday Beatrix! I have a little spirited girl like her as well. Have you read Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake? It is a story about a spirited little girl as well. My daughter loves it! Every time she is so full of herself I tell her she is a handful and she replies as in the book, “and I love chocolate cake!”

Whew. My little one, 15 months old, is quite the difficult baby. I am tested every single day. The thought that we might one day have a similar conversation made me cry…..as did Beatrix’s question. I do need my baby too…..just wish I could have a tiny break every once in a blue moon. Beautiful, beautiful post. She was a gorgeous, perfect little baby, wasn’t she???

Ginny, your blog is lovely, your heart for God is beautiful, but your pictures of Beatrix are just my favorite thing ever. She is always marching to the beat of her own drummer and your pictures remind me of my own childhood pictures. My sister’s photos are perfect, hair curled and every ruffle in place, while mine always contain some kind of diy haircut or makeup job! She is one of a kind!
