~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

These two doll sweaters were my only Christmas knitting projects. The girls were pleased with them. I ran out of yarn though, and had to give Bea’s doll sweater black sleeves. I think it worked though, and it seems rather Beatrix. Beatrix who once again hopped on the bed when I was taking pictures. She declared that the sweaters are “soooo special” and then grabbed them one by one and threw them on the floor.
I am really focusing on finishing Howard’s End, but reading time is just scant. I received Anna Quindlen’s Short Guide to a Happy Life as a gift and read it last week. It’s a quick happy little read.
The dolls sweaters look gorgeous. Aren’t little kids delightful 🙂
Okay. Now you are making me want to get back to knitting! Beautiful sweater.
I think that the black sleeves turned our really cute and very appropriate to the Little Miss!!! My reading this week is so scattered that I didn’t even share it!!!!Lots of Christmas stories, though….
I love your doll sweaters; what a great gift. And sorry, mom, but we love the yarn along!
A beautiful doll sweater! You are so talented! I rather enjoy the black sleeves as well. It gives it something unique and special.
I forgot to mention on your post from yesterday that I like the baby Jesus doll. It’s very sweet.
Here is my post/contribution to the Yarn Along:

Enjoy!
I rather like the look of the black sleeves. I sometimes wonder if our kids realize that not all children receive beautiful gifts made by Momma. My Livie thinks I make everything including stuff other people wear and use lol. When she was one and a half she would walk around saying “momma make it”. Thanks for sharing and I loved the swaddled infant Jesus from yesterday.
Such sweet little sweaters. The black sleeves definitely work.
Love these little doll sweaters! So cute ♥
Beatrix sounds so like my 4 year old! Lovely little sweaters!
They turned out adorable, Ginny. Thanks for giving my pattern a shout out!
I love the doll sweaters and keep wanting to make some–they look satisfyin. I am not sure if mine made it up, but it wasn’t that interesting–I am new to the blog world, but am having fun with it.
I love the sweaters and the very little girl reaction!
I love the doll’s sweaters!!!
I think the sweater looks very trendy with black sleeves, I’m sure she loved it. x
I took forever with Howard’s End too. Love the black sleeves on the doll sweaters.
I’m so glad I found your blog. I love the feel of it and look forward to checking back here frequently… and perusing the others who have signed up for the yarn along. Very fun.
The doll sweaters are so, so precious! The black sleeves and that pattern go so perfectly together I never would have guessed it was an emergency adaptation!
Mom and I both love those little doll sweaters! She has enjoyed participating in your yarn-along once again this visit.
Love the adorable doll sweaters (my little one got a sewing machine for Christmas, so I imagine we’ll be making some doll dresses this week). Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season. Thank you so much for bringing everyone together each week with Yarn Along, I find myself looking forward to Wednesdays to see what everone is working on:)
The sweaters are adorable she must have loved them. I like the one without the sleeves. May have to add this to my wish list of crochetting projects.
Definitely have to disagree with your Mom. I love to see what you are knitting!
So adorable – wishing you a very peaceful New Year.
Today is my first yarn along! The doll sweaters are too cute. I need to figure out a crocheted one for my little girl. Love your blog is just wonderful. Thanks for all you do!
Love these doll sweaters and thanks to Christmas we have some new dolls to knit for!
The doll sweaters are great and yes…the unusual one, so Bea….
I love love love the sweaters! Great work, friend!
I didn’t do much Christmas knitting myself this year. It was kind of nice in a way. Those doll sweaters are lovely! My daughter added a new baby to her nursery this year and so I might just think about a doll sweater for a birthday present for her! Thanks for the inspiration!
They are adorable! I would love to knit some things for my girls 18″ dolls. Hopefully soon.
I did no Christmas knitting this year–of course then I overloaded on Christmas sewing 🙂 Maybe the black sleeves (very cute) will prevent arguments over whose sweater is whose?!!
The doll sweaters are just gorgeous! I sewed a Waldorf doll for my daughter for Christmas this year and I see many sweaters and sewn outfits for Marigold (the doll) in my future. I’ve posted my (modest) progress on an 1860 sontag pattern and my continued journey through the Newbery Medalists, along with links to the doll I made. I hope it’s a restful week before the New Year for you and yours!
The sweater does work, esp since you added the dark button and the touch of pink on the cuff! Lovely and so precious ….
Prayers and hugs for a lovely Christmas time!
Throwing them on the floor…funny, but not. (I say that with a smile on my face and a chuckle.) The sweaters are very sweet, and I like the black sleeves. The short guide sounds interesting… ‘short’ being the key word here. My time is limited too for reading.
I also beg to differ with your mom. I don’t knit but I love to see what others are making. There is something about the color and texture of yarn that draws me in. Of course, your children are beautiful too.
My first yarn along! I have been enjoying these post’s for way too long, why not join in?
I love how the sweater turned out with the black sleeves. It is absolutely adorable.
Thanks again for sharing and hosting yarn along.
The sweaters are so sweet! I made a sweater for my daughter’s doll awhile ago. But she’s still in the phase of wanting all her babies to be naked so I’m saving for awhile! 🙂
Cute sweaters and good improv on finishing the sleeves.
Super cute sweaters! I kind of like how Beatrix’s is a little different, my sister and I would have appreciated the differences when we were kids, and I’m sure your kids do too!
My link this week isn’t exactly a yarn along, but a Christmas knits recap. Your doll sweaters are lovely. Lucky dolls!
I never do a sweater for dolls. It’s a new hobby from now. I like your “golden hands”.
I love the sweaters! I wanted to make several things for Gemma’s special doll, but ran out of time–perhaps for her birthday in July…
Love those dolls sweaters – looking quite trendy with the black sleeves 😉
And, you know….I saw the cover to the Short Guide book above and though it looked so familiar….then I remembered that we have a copy of it in our waiting room at he office! I will have to check it out!
dear Ginny,
this is my first Yarn Along, I am glad to join in and I enjoy this wonderful source of inspiration!
Love the little doll sweaters, the black sleeves are perfect!
JenMuna
Congratulations on your new space here Ginny, very lovely! Thank you for your reply when the previous blog was not connecting, I would’ve really missed participating in Yarn Along.
I beg to differ with your lovely Mom ; ) I love to see all your knitting and handmades on here, it’s a huge part of the appeal for me and I always want to see more. Your baby Jesus you made is very beautiful, made with tenderness I can see. The dolly sweaters are wonderful. Thank you for hosting us and look forward to a new year of small things and Yarn Alongs! Warmly, M
The dolly sweaters are just adorable. i’m loving small small small knitting projects. I’m sharing my finished (second) shalom today, and a dolly sweater as a next project would be very welcome!!
How sweet, I would have loved that for my dolls when I was younger!
(if you could delete my previous comment, I would appreciate it, the link is bad. Sorry about that!)
The doll sweaters are too sweet. Such special gifts receive the same sort of treatment around here too. 🙂
Ah, Beatrix’s declaration and behavior sound so familiar! I have one just a bit younger who seems so similar (: Those sweet sweaters truly are “soooo special”. Just beautiful. Lucky girls, and luck dolls!
The doll sweaters look so sweet. I am all about happy, easy reading these days and think I will add more of it into my week, it’s nice.
I also made my daughter a sweater for her doll. I just made short sleeves 🙂 Love yours and love the respect they get!
