Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
dolly sweaters

These two doll sweaters were my only Christmas knitting projects.  The girls were pleased with them.  I ran out of yarn though, and had to give Bea’s doll sweater black sleeves.  I think it worked though, and it seems rather Beatrix.  Beatrix who once again hopped on the bed when I was taking pictures.  She declared that the sweaters are “soooo special” and then grabbed them one by one and threw them on the floor.

I am really focusing on finishing Howard’s End, but reading time is just scant.  I received Anna Quindlen’s Short Guide to a Happy Life as a gift and read it last week.  It’s a quick happy little read.

Below is a linky list if you’d like to link up and join the Yarn Along.  Don’t forget to link back to this post so that others can join us.  The Yarn Along is about sharing with each other!
(**And those of you posting crochet projects, don’t forget to add the word “crochet” next to your name to make yourself easier for other crocheters to find! )
(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back to this post in your blog post or on your flickr photo page so that others who may want to join the Yarn Along can find us!
(3) If you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!
You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!

A beautiful doll sweater! You are so talented! I rather enjoy the black sleeves as well. It gives it something unique and special.
I forgot to mention on your post from yesterday that I like the baby Jesus doll. It’s very sweet.

I rather like the look of the black sleeves. I sometimes wonder if our kids realize that not all children receive beautiful gifts made by Momma. My Livie thinks I make everything including stuff other people wear and use lol. When she was one and a half she would walk around saying “momma make it”. Thanks for sharing and I loved the swaddled infant Jesus from yesterday.

I didn’t do much Christmas knitting myself this year. It was kind of nice in a way. Those doll sweaters are lovely! My daughter added a new baby to her nursery this year and so I might just think about a doll sweater for a birthday present for her! Thanks for the inspiration!

I did no Christmas knitting this year–of course then I overloaded on Christmas sewing 🙂 Maybe the black sleeves (very cute) will prevent arguments over whose sweater is whose?!!

The doll sweaters are just gorgeous! I sewed a Waldorf doll for my daughter for Christmas this year and I see many sweaters and sewn outfits for Marigold (the doll) in my future. I’ve posted my (modest) progress on an 1860 sontag pattern and my continued journey through the Newbery Medalists, along with links to the doll I made. I hope it’s a restful week before the New Year for you and yours!

Throwing them on the floor…funny, but not. (I say that with a smile on my face and a chuckle.) The sweaters are very sweet, and I like the black sleeves. The short guide sounds interesting… ‘short’ being the key word here. My time is limited too for reading.
