The only thing cooler than seeing my daughter wearing a dress made by me…

…is seeing her wearing my favorite dress from when I was a little girl.

What’s up with the fact that the dress is a size five, she’s three years old, and it is really already too small for her? And, hey what about that cat? Foreshadowing, I guess. I never had a cat as a kid, but boy am I making up for that these days (unfortunately). I used to love cats, really I did. But why on earth does my bed seem like a litterbox? And why does Seth’s beloved Shosta have to be the perpetrator?

Anyway, thanks to my stepmom for saving this dress for me all these years. I can’t wait to put it on Beatrix.

her face in the last picture is so funny – what a character!I do think they made clothes smaller back then – I used to have some leftovers from my childhood, and they definitely ran small.

I have got a suggestion for you: Feliway!! Have you tried it? It's a spray – I think you can get it at petco, but you can definitely get it at your vet. It is totally scentless to us, but smells like cat pheromones to the cat. You spray it where they are peeing inappropriately (ie, your bed) and it stops them from peeing there. They also have feliway plugins…Feliway saved our cat. She wasn't peeing everywhere, but she had serious emotional issues. We sprayed it around the baseboards and the dog's bed and she became the happiest, friendliest, cat alive. And (more to the point), she stopped her anxiety behaviors.here: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_displa…

I have 2 dresses that were mine and my sister's and they are too small for my girls. I remember wearing it when I was about Tally's age and there is no way she could fit into now. It makes me wonder…are kids just bigger now than they were 30 years ago? And if so…why?
