I shared some thoughts about pottery making over on Instagram yesterday, namely that it’s hard, but I keep trying! The little vase in these photos is one I made on our wheel here at home. It was sort of a happy accident as I am still not a consistent potter. I never really know what I will produce when I sit down at the wheel. The kids have all joined us with great enthusiasm and my house will soon be filled with small, odd pots and bowls. The day I took these photos of Mabel, she had come straight to my studio, first thing in the morning, wanting to make something. I don’t have much time for making pottery right now, but am glad that the kids are having fun. I did finish that tiny pair of socks for my new grandson, and started a hat for Jonny. I love that knitting is something that can travel from the homeschool table to the orthodontist’s office, especially when I don’t have much time for more than the necessary.
I started craving color earlier this winter and started dyeing some very bright pastel scarves! These fall far from my usual palettes, but they make me happy every time I look at them. They remind me of Easter egg hunts and spring! I dyed a small number of full sized scarves, and some smaller ones as well. They are available in my shop now and will ship in plenty of time for Easter!
Despite a last minute snowstorm last week, I think we are nearing the end of winter here. I am so happy for spring and look forward to being warm!
I would learn to make pottery just so I could make beautiful little vases exactly like that one. I love little vases for all over the house. Lovely!
So beautiful !!!
Happy (almost) Spring !!!
Having a cup of coffee with a friend is what I consider your post to be. Your pottery is lovely as are your scarves. I am looking forward to seeing your children’s pottery appearing very soon.

Beautiful post and pictures Ginny. I just grabbed a cup of Tazo orange tea ~ have you tried it yet? It tastes like orange juice with a little sweetener in it! I opened your post and felt like I was catching up with a friend. Thank you, your scarves are beautiful and your pottery too!
I hope we’ll see your kids pottery start to appear in the shop as they continue to practice!
