This weekend’s giveaway is from my favorite place to find handmade wooden buttons and jewelry, WoolyMossRoots!

Hi! We are Taryn and Jeff Wilson. We live in Oregon with our son, nutty pup, and a bunch of chickens. We love making things and our business, WoolyMossRoots, is a natural extension of that. We offer handmade wooden buttons, shawl pins, wooden jewelry, and more. We sell at fiber festivals along the West Coast, at a selection of yarn shops, and online. Speaking of that, we are excited about our new online shop! You can find it at: http://www.woolymossrootshandmade.com

Jeff has some especially beautiful sets of buttons in the shop right now, and a variety of shawl pins, mostly in Oregon woods. He has such an appreciation for beautiful wood, and his enthusiasm has definitely rubbed off on me over the years. We save branches when we trim fruit trees on our little homestead, collect fallen branches (nothing goes to waste around here, if it’s not used to make something, it will become kindling), trade for wood with fellow woodworkers, or buy wood from sustainable sources. We both ooh and aah over spalted wood, and our family looks for designs in the grain like people look for pictures in the clouds.

In addition to wood buttons, Jeff has been making deer antler buttons from shed antlers that I absolutely adore. (I can’t wait to use some on my next knitting projects.) I also started making buttons from Oregon coast driftwood, they are so fun and I love making them. We have other things we’ve been having a lot of fun making and offering at fiber festivals, which haven’t made their way online yet, that we look forward to adding to the shop soon. You can stay connected with us on the blog, and on Instagram (where I announce shop updates, and giveaways.) Keep in mind that we also make custom buttons for projects, so if you are wanting anything in particular for a special project, feel free to send us a message through the shop. I want to say a big thank you to Ginny for having us on her blog over the years, and giving us the space to share about our little family business with all of you, it means so much to us. Thanks Ginny!

Beautiful buttons. Would love to combine them with my knitting projects. I like natural things.
Best wishes from the Netherlands, Marianne
