In the Loft {giveaway}

Today’s giveaway is from Sue Dow of In the Loft. My family loves her beautiful painted figures and I am always glad to share her work here with you. Susan gifted my family with one of her new Advent Runners, and we are so excited to use it this year as part of our Advent traditions.

I’m Sue, owner and artist of In The Loft, a home based business and Etsy shop. I live in a small town in southern New Hampshire and paint in a loft above my living room.  The work keeps coming in and now has grown into a full time business. My day is filled with painting. My youngest son helps out now and does most of the wood cutting.  These items are all designed, made and painted here in the wood shop and loft with great attention to quality and detail.
I love that my work helps families to teach & celebrate the faith. Whether it’s for the home, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd or a gift, I hope you find something you love.
 I am eager to show you two new items available in my shop. I hope you will be as excited about these items as I am!
First is my newest creation, an Advent Table Runner. This original design is a hand painted canvas path to Bethlehem. Sure to be a favorite family tradition, this Table Runner is placed on your dining room table so you can mark the days of Advent together. On the first Sunday of Advent, December 3 this year (the earliest date Advent can begin is November 27), place the wood disc on the path and move each day at meal time. There are 4 discs, one for each week of advent. The discs are painted with the advent wreath on one side with the correct number of candles lit and on the reverse side the focus of the week. Week 1: hope, week 2: peace, week 3: joy, & week 4 : Love.
Use the reverse side on Christmas Day; painted with white poinsettias and space in the center for your Christmas candle or table decor.
Also included are a large storage bag, and a small storage bag for the discs. I can only guarantee the first 12 orders to be delivered in time for the first Sunday of Advent, so place your order soon!
 

I am also excited to share my new ornaments & wood block prints.

One of my favorite icons is the The Vladimir Mother of God(Tender Mother).  I’ve had my painting made into prints and these are available mounted on 1/4” thick wood as an ornament or 1/2” thick for the wall or prayer table. These are 2 3/8” wide by  3 1/2” tall.

  1. I love celebrating Advent with my children! Being able to purchase the holy family nativity blocks or a nativity set that my daughter could play with would be amazing. I have a small ceramic one from my grandma and due to my daughter’s little fingers always reaching I had to superglue back on several pieces!

  42. Just purchased a wood block Nativity set. Lovely workmanship and child-friendly, too. And very tempted by the larger, carved nativity figures. Hmmmmm.

She really captures the saints and their stories well as well as many important feasts and solemnities in the Catholic faith!
