Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

I stayed up too late last night to get through dividing for the sleeves of Mabel’s cardigan. I think it’s going to be such a cute little sweater! I want to knit it quickly, because I’m not knitting it with room to grow. I want Mabel to wear it over the next few months, so I am hoping for it to fit well, and not be too big.

After one of you recommended William Horwood’s books, I’m reading The Willows at Christmas. Larkspur gave me a funny look when she asked if I was reading it to myself and I told her, “Yes!” I don’t have much mental space for grown-up books right now.

If I am not back here before next week, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas without too much late-night, last-minute gift knitting!

Grown up book, schmone up book. They’re all just books! I went through a whole year of being unable to deal with grown up books and strictly read kids and YA fiction, and it was amazing. Sometimes you just need to re-charge the batteries, and it’s better than not reading at all.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Such a beautiful pattern! I am still a beginner knitter and am mystified by how to split for sleeves or arm holes! Did you just use a spare piece of yarn to hold the stiches and continue knitting the other sections?is there a name for that technique? I’m so curious! I need a knitting teacher! 😀 DI’d you make that pattern up or are there instructions somewhere? Merry Christmas!
