Sarah Mabel Elizabeth was born on Monday via a scheduled c-section. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz, and everything went well according to my doctor and nurses. We are home resting now. I have so much to share in the coming weeks: the significance of her name (she will go by Mabel, or “Mae”), my reasons for choosing the birth that I did for her, and what that was like for me.
My dear friend Lori visited us at the hospital just a couple of hours after Mabel was born and captured the photos of those early moments that I am sharing here.
I will be laying low for a little while, but hope to be back here very soon. Thank you for being here, for your prayers and words of encouragment, and for sharing our joy with us. This little one is the sweetest gift.
Congrats!! I love the name, how very sweet!
Welcome to the world baby girl! Congratulations to all of you. May you be richly blessed by your new little one. Speedy, smooth recovery.
Congratulations! Love the name. I had an aunt Mabel, and my mother in law went by Mae. Both are winners! Glad all is well.
She’s absolutely perfect! Hope you’re recovering well, Ginny! Lots of love to you all!
Congratulations on your sweet baby girl. I know from experience that C-sections are no fun and am wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery.

Welcome to the world Miss Mabel!
Our youngest ( of 7) is Sarah Elizabeth 🙂
I hope that you can rest, and enjoy some quiet time with Mabel and the older kids.
Blessings Ginny.
Oh Ginnie! She is so very beautiful. I have five children- three boys and two girls. I always feel so close to you since one of my girls was born so very close to Job and it was such a hard agonizing labor which ended in an emergency C-section. I had my second little girl with a scheduled C-section just like your sweet Mae. Praying for you dear one.
Welcome!
She is soooo precious. Just beautiful! Blessings to all of you. It seems like your family is a part of mine! Rest as much as you can & heal quickly! Sending lots of love & prayers.
Congratulations. She is absolutely beautiful. All the best to your family. Savor some quiet time with her.

Congratulations, Ginny! I am so excited for you. She has a beautiful name. 🙂
Our 5th was born in a hospital after previous home births. So was our 6th. I had different feelings about those births. I allowed myself to have them. And I look at my sweet girls and thank God they are happy and healthy. And that’s all I can say about that. 😉
Peace and rest and recovery be with you.
(both of mine were c-sections as well… I am praying for you every day)

Blessings on Mabel’s safe, healthy arrival. What a beautiful tribute to your friend. I’ve followed you a long time and your life reflects an abundant portion of Gid’s grace. Thank you for your blog and for sharing your treasured family stories.
Katherine
Not sure who Gid is…I meant God’s grace! ?
Oh how wonderful. She’s beautiful!
What another sweet blessing! She is adorable.
Speedy recovery, and don’t rush getting back into things. It doesn’t happen often that you have an excuse for wearing your pajamas for a week or two straight. Seize the moment and enjoy others taking care of you.
Felicitations ! Elle a l’air tres mignonne.
Congratulations! And welcome to the world, little one! Rest and enjoy these precious first days and weeks with her. We’ll be here when you get back to blogging. 🙂
