Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

Yarn Along-4433

My little book on peace of heart has gone missing, so I have mainly been reading The Shepherd’s Life this week, which is all right because I love this book too.  I am knitting a hat for Beatrix in my prickly pear dyed yarn, since the indigo hat I knit for her ended up being too big.  But mostly, I’m running around trying to get ready for the snowstorm heading our way.  I don’t feel prepared!

Do you know of a book ‘The Yorkshire Shepherdess’ by Amanda Owen? She was featured in a tv show ‘The Dales’ and now has book. She has 8 children too. Could be of interest.

I’m hoping the storm just goes out to sea! My husband is in Montana skiing for a week and while I’m a very good lawnmower I am a horrible snowplower! I can get it done and do a decent job with a few inches of snow at a time – but I don’t want a bunch!

Your yarn is gorgeous! I just taught myself to knit in the last couple of weeks (I crochet like a mad woman).

Just a note of little interest, but when I ordered a few of Father Jacques Philippe’s books, it was the one and only time the USPS let me down and the package had ripped open and all the books fell out and it arrived as an “oops” package with the just envelope and no books inside. The company was kind of enough to send me another round.

Just sayin’ those are good little books. It’s intriguing that yours went missing too:). God bless!

We usually have a lot of snow by now, but it all seems to be going south of us. I love a big snowstorm! The prickly pear yarn is just gorgeous! I pray you don’t get more snow than you are prepared for! Stay safe and warm.

I listened to a sample of that book on audible this week and I think I will end up listening to it this year rather than reading because the accent is so fun to listen to!
What a lovely hat that will be!

ahhh the frustration of misplaced items! I usually check down in the couch and chairs first…then slid down beside my bed…although I carry bags and totes and am amazed sometimes what lost things show up in them!
I have yet to try dying yarn, but yours is lovely

Stay safe, Ginny! And warm. Though with all of your knits, that shouldn’t be hard :).

I want a lot of snow….just saying. Love the hat color and funny how an unpretty name -prickly pear- could result in a beautiful color 🙂

How fun to be knitting with your own dyed yarn…such satisfaction. Wait til you spin your own wool…I just know that is what is in your future, how could it not be? 🙂 That book is high on my list to read as it has been recommended by many other shepherds. I hope you get hunkered down before the snow flies, such a great time to knit!

      I would too, but they’re talking about a lot! I don’t want a lot! 🙂

Hopefully they are wrong and you won’t get too much. My town shuts down with just a dusting since we aren’t equipped to handle it and with all the bridges it’s dangerous. I can still wish though 🙂
