Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading and I love sharing my projects and current reads here. I would love for you to join me every Wednesday to share a single photo of what you are knitting (or crocheting) and reading too! Share your photo on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us!~

Yarn Along-8395

It took some time for my brain to adjust to reading about bees in a work of fiction, versus the non-fiction I am more accustomed to.  Having them anthropomorphized was strange at first, but I am about halfway into The Bees now, and I think it’s really fascinating and fun.

I finished Bea’s Heartwood cape on her birthday, all that grafting took me a little while.  It fits her well, and she loves it.  I’ll take pictures and share more details soon.  My other knitting this week was a tiny pair of legwarmers for the Phyllis Mouse that I made Bea for her birthday.  I don’t always have time to make handmade gifts, and I am glad that I was able to this year.

Hi Ginny. Today I am joining for the first time, after viewing from the sidelines for a long time. Thanks for the linkup. Cx

Phyllis Mouse is so sweet. Bea is very blessed to have a mother that can do all you do! Iowa is supposed to have snow on Friday so I decided to take off tomorrow from work and do some purging and sending to Goodwill so I can get the house ready for the holidays. Have a great rest of the week Ginny!

I love Alicia’s mice. Those little leg warmers are so cute. I’m in handmade mitt’s stocking filler mode at the moment.

    Happy Birthday to Bea!
Thanks again for yesterday’s post, the Rosary was very helpful for me yesterday. My mind is full of confusion and needed some clarity.

I’m aiming for handmade gifts for Christmas but am determined not to go insane trying. When I make them, I’m even more excited than the kids are when it comes time to open them. It is all I can do to keep them hidden until then. A good reason to wait until the last minute to make them!
