Hello everyone! (And thank you Ginny for having us on your lovely blog today.) For those of you who aren’t familiar with us yet, we are The Wilson Family- Taryn, Jeff and Bracken. WoolyMossRoots is our family business and we like to think of our online shop as a haven for knitters, gardeners & creative spirits. Everything is made by our family in our woodland workshop, on our small Oregon homestead. My husband Jeff is the woodworker and I help with different parts of the process, taking pictures of the beautiful things he makes to post in the shop. When we’re not fully immersed in all that, our favorite place to be is in the garden. We welcome you to join us on the blog!
At WoolyMossRoots, we offer handmade artisan buttons, wooden shawl pins, cedar garden & homestead signs, sustainable wooden jewelry, and more. We make things for nature lovers and all the wood Jeff uses has a story. We reclaim many small pieces of wood that would otherwise be discarded by fellow woodworking friends and we also use many woods from our own yard whenever we find fallen branches or trim our fruit trees.

Even with the new offerings we’ve been adding to the shop lately, buttons are still at the heart of our shop. Jeff has been busy making custom buttons for holiday gifts. If you are in need of any custom buttons (or signs) for the holidays, now is the time to place your order! I’m happy to say there are now even more ways for you to share your projects with WoolyMossRoots buttons. In addition to our Ravelry group and Facebook page, we have now joined the world of Instagram! You can share your projects there with the tag #woolymossroots

Look for us in 2016 at two Oregon Fiber Festivals: The Black Sheep Gathering in Eugene, Oregon and The Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival in Canby, Oregon. You can also find us at the Mother Earth News Fair in Albany, Oregon.

We want to thank all of our customers who have been supporting us all these years! It’s truly a pleasure working with you. When I get messages with links to your knitting pattern and yarn color, asking which wood would be a great fit, it makes my job so much fun! Pairing wood and yarn is something I absolutely love. (And one of my very favorite combinations right now, by the way, is yellow yarn with buttons in black walnut wood.)
