Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I am still working solely on this blue shawl.  The pattern is pretty simple without being boring, and I do love the yarn, so it’s not so bad sticking to just the one project.

Surprise!  I’m reading another book about goats.  This one, The Year of the Goat, is a memoir that follows a couple’s journey around the country as they try to learn as much as they can about goats before making the decision to start raising them themselves.  The author discusses all the interesting people they meet along the way and I am really loving her stories.

    Ginny,
I am really excited about coming across your great site. I love reading and knitting and am a long time Christian.
I think the only difference maybe that I might be in a bit of an older age group at 55, but your as young as you feel, right! Ya’ll must promise to have another Knit-along so that I can jump in. I looked through and it seems that ya’ll may be at the egg picking for this Knit-along.
I look forward to getting to know ya’ll better and hope that ya’ll think I fit in. Until then,
Happy Knitting and Reading to Ya’ll!

This is my first week linking up, and I am so enjoying wandering around from blog to blog. Thanks so much for hosting this. As far as goats go, while I love cashmere, I don’t think goats are the most ruly animal – that must be a tough commitment and a huge investment in time and patience. Enjoy your read!

Love the color of your shawl in the works, I am ‘into’ blue hues at the moment. Goats are adorable and it seems they feel always content because of their friendly faces.
    Thanks for Yarn Along!

Love your shawl! Bees and goats are two things I long to add to our menagerie but just don’t yet want to commit the time (and money), but eventually we will I hope! Maybe next year for goats!

I want goats so badly, but we don’t even have a yard. I’m hoping in the next few years we will have enough yard to have some chickens and a goat. I love seeing your photos of them, especially the last set in the spring rain. Beautiful shawl. 🙂

It seems I’m knitting on the same projects as well week after week, the weather has been lovely and I’m outside being active instead of inside. Imagine you reading about goats!

Every time I see photos of your goats I am so tempted to add another one to our household, they are so cute.
