through the window

Yesterday, I wanted to take some photos of our dogwoods because they have been particularly red and beautiful this fall.  As I walked through the backyard, I saw though, that most of the leaves had been stripped during the previous windy night.  I made another little discovery as I rounded the house:  two little girls in the window, sandwiched between the glass and the couch, working on their memory work for school while cutting paper.  And there was evidence that Silas painted all over the window.  But you probably didn’t notice that, because you can barely tell, right?  And while I might get discouraged by the combination of peeling trim, paint and smudges on the windows, and siding of different colors, I am actually happy because the difference in siding color is evidence that Jonny got a project finished.  Next up is pressure washing and staining so that everything matches.  That might not happen until spring.  Repainting the outside trim keeps getting pushed back as well.  But, you have my word that I will clean those windows…this week.

And…

kind of a big p.s.

I am selling dishrags to raise funds for Gabe and Keats to play travel baseball.  This is my own personal way to raise money, not a fundraiser affiliated with any organization.  I got the idea to sell these dishrags after buying some for myself and really liking them.  They are made at a small mill in the U.S.A.  When I first bought them, I was under the impression that they were 100% cotton, but later learned that they are actually a polyester/cotton blend.  The polyester content actually makes them last longer (They really hold up very well.  I bought my first set nearly a year ago and they are still going strong.)  It also helps them maintain softness and stretchiness even after many, many washes.  The one caveat is that they aren’t great for wiping up spills, but that’s not how I use them.  These are the cloths that I use to wipe down my kitchen table and counter-tops.  They are great for washing dishes, dusting furniture, or scrubbing the bathtub.  After their first wash they fluff up and shrink to roughly 11 inches square.  I love the colored stripes, and their vintage look.  I sell them by the dozen (assorted colors as seen in the photos) for $20 + $6 for shipping in the U.S. (I don’t ship outside the U.S. because the shipping would cost more than the cloths!)

If you are interested in buying a dozen dishcloths, leave me a comment on this post letting me know.  I will send a Paypal invoice (bill) to the email address connected to your comment that you can pay however you like.  I promise, it’s really easy.  If you want to buy dishcloths, but are unsure about using Paypal, send me an email! (ginnysheller(at)gmail(dot)com.)

Guys?  I have seventy dozen left to sell.  I don’t know what I was thinking, buying so many.

They make lovely and practical gifts!!!    And really, it’s always nice to toss the old cruddy dishrags and replace them with bright striped new ones!

70 dozen!  Help!!!!

(please?)

p.p.s.  If you want to order, but are afraid I’ve sold out–don’t worry!  I haven’t yet!  I can order more if necessary (and they would make it to me in a matter of days) and honestly that would be so amazing.  You guys are so wonderful.  This is lifting a big burden off my shoulders!  Thank you!

***Jonny, Keats, Gabe, and I worked last night to package up the first 35 dozen or so and they will go in the mail today! (Tuesday)

Like a previous replier, I hadn’t noticed anything other than (dirty window, etc) what a wonderful sight the sisters were cutting paper snowflakes! Photos to be treasured!

I’ll take a dozen dishcloths as well… but I’m in no rush, so if you have 70 people ahead of me no stress…..

    regards,

    Isabel
