This weekend’s giveaway is from my favorite place to buy woolens for my family, Little Spruce Organics! I am cold natured and really struggle with winter. This year “they” are predicting a cold, snowy winter for us and I’m a little nervous. We’re already into November, and Jonny hasn’t started gathering firewood yet, though he assures me he knows exactly where it’s coming from. We’ve had a few fire-worthy cold nights, but the chimney hasn’t been cleaned yet either. It seems that every year, we are a little more behind than the previous one. There’s just always so much to do during the fall! Thankfully, I ordered all the necessary woolens a few weeks ago, so at least we will have warm layers! Our house is old and drafty, and woolies really make a difference.

In shop owner Bethany’s words, “Little Spruce Organics is a small, family-run business that offers a unique selection of organic baby apparel, organic cloth diapering products, breastfeeding apparel, and natural wooden and organic cotton toys. We specialize in woolens for babies and toddlers and are committed to carrying only apparel and cloth diapering products that are made from organic and natural fibers. The products I choose to carry in my store are all a result of my experience as a mother and my strong desire not only to select the most nurturing, natural products for my own children, but to spark the same passion in other mothers who are committed to providing their children with a childhood that is as close to nature as possible.”

(Silas is wearing a Disana boiled wool jacket. I am such a fan of boiled wool. It is warm while remaining really flexible, allowing for plenty of movement. He is a big 3 1/2, and I originally ordered the size 4-5 for him, but exchanged for the 2-3. Disana products are generously sized! Even with the 2-3 Silas will be able to wear layers under the jacket without feeling constricted. Disana makes some of my favorite woolens such as their organic merino wool knitted leggings. They are on sale at Little Spruce right now! You might have noticed my children wearing them over the past few years, most recently Beatrix was wearing a pair in this post. )

(Job is wearing a Cosilana organic wool/silk/cotton shirt. I am very pleased with this little shirt. It makes a very soft, warm but lightweight base layer, but is thick enough to be worn alone on warmer days.)

For today’s giveaway, Little Spruce Organics is offering one winner a pair of Disana knitted wool overalls, like the pair that Job is wearing in the above photos (winner will select size and color). In addition, use coupon code “autumn10” for $10.00 off any order of $40.00 or more (there are some brand restrictions- those are listed on our website under “discounts & promotions“)
For your chance to win, leave a comment on this post. And don’t forget to “like” Little Spruce Organics on Facebook!
Comments are closed and the winner is, ummrania, who commented, “I love wool, and thankfully so does my 10 month old….seriously, when he was wee he would just stare at my knitting and loves to play with balls of yarn.”
Thanks, Little Spruce Organics!

Yes pls..we love their stuff.
I love woolen layers for my little ones. In the cold days of winter the drafty house and forced air heat leave much to be desired and I can frequently be heard bemoaning my lack of radiant heat! Someday a cozy wood stove!
