Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading (though not at the same time!), and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

DSC_0693It took some effort because I kept making silly, sleepy mistakes, but I divided for the sleeves on Wee Liesl this week.  Despite my struggles, this is a really fun pattern to knit.

I’m still trying to learn more about the history of Sudan, and am reading They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky.

Such a good book! Heartbreaking, but excellent writing. If you’re interested in the lost boys in particular, What is the What (Valentino Achak Deng with Dave Eggers) is one of my favorite books of all time, and an excellent personal account from Sudan, but also a really endearing story of adjusting to a new life.

My Sudanese friend has that book-I think he knows the author. I will borrow it from him!

I happen to love your knitting – colours, patterns and all. It might be partly because anything handmade is just so beautiful and compelling. But I have no doubt it is mostly because of your talents.

I so do not need to cast on another baby sweater, but you’re tempting me every time you post about this one.

I love the yarn you are knitting with. It seems to be the week for mistakes. I had a bunch of them.

I have Wee Liesl on my list to knit for Emerson so I’m glad to hear it’s a fun knit.
I do love the color you are using. Emerson is in love with the colors red and
    orange, sigh.
