It is absolutely unreasonable to ask one’s children to pose for a group picture. That doesn’t stop me.
I believe that when you slow down and savor the small things, you don’t have to wish for a different life; you can discover beauty in the life you already have. {Find out more here...}

I think a couple of those are lovely! You have a wonderful family 🙂
I can’t even get my one little two-year-old to remain motionless long enough to get a picture these days; just lots of blurry shots of him scurrying to do something that I’ll have to drop the camera to stop anyway . . .
You have a beautiful family! Keep wrangling those group shots!
Simplesmente lindos, gosto muito de os ver!!!
I love your family, your every single picture make me happy!!!
God bless you all of you!!!
Love them! Just wait til Seth hits 16, then it will be of him exiting at the side of each photo….quickly 😉
I feel your pain! I think the third, fourth, and fifth ones from the bottom are good!
Too funny!!! 🙂
Personality is shining through! I love this series!!
Ah, but these tell a much richer story and show their loving relationships with each other so much more than any staged, formally posed photo ever could. These photos are a treasure!
I think the way your biggest girl (Beatrix?) looks at your biggest boy (Seth?) with love, pride and joy is simply heartmealting. I love the simplicity and warmth of your family and your photos.
Oh my goodness, I have such a problem just getting a picture of my 3 – three year old and 1 – twelve year old grandchildren in a photo!
Ha! This is a great story! (sometimes wordless stories are the best.) Has me chuckling, still! Thanks so much for posting. Made my evening.
Again you need a remote shutter button. They are cheep. Okay and a tripod. I put Silas in charge of using the remote and you will some amazing full family photos. But for now these are just perfect!
I think the third one from the bottom is a winner!! Frame it:)
fantastic!
Oh, my. I wanted to say, “Frame each and every one!” But I know that’s unrealistic. Frame one, though, please. And print the rest to save forever and ever.
I love them all!
4th from the bottom is just perfect!
Fantastic!!!!! You will love these photos (and so will they) in 20+ years…all the personalities on full display and captured forever! I think social media has caused a lot of parents to only appreciate/keep/treasure the “perfect” parts of their lives…I enjoy flipping through my baby books and photo albums from my childhood to see all the imperfect parts, to locate the treasured toys in the background, the outfits my grandparents were wearing, the mess my mother had in the kitchen…real life is always better. Well done, Ginny!
you’ve got some contenders here for a great shot!! my kids (only three) are impossible!!! but, i try over and over again, too!
These pics are wonderful!
those are so great. real life!
love this. so much. it should never stop us!
Can i just say i loved looking at these this morning, they brought a smile to my face! I have hour young children and on the rare occasion that i look decent enough to be in front of the camera, well lets just say the whole process is painful. But this reminds me that sometimes the unperfect pictures are better than we could have planned x
What a fun sequence of photos! You have a beautiful family, Ginny. Thank you for sharing them with us! xo
absolutely love the pictures! 🙂
How cute! I love them all. And as a mom of 5, I can totally relate! 🙂
Oh I love this! Seth reminds me of my oldest son….how in the world did you get him to go from looking like he was hating it to smiling??? Once mine makes that “I hate this” face, there is no returning for him! You are a completely unreasonable mother (as I am!) for wanting a picture of all your children together 🙂 My sister and I tried to photograph my five and her two (the oldest is ten, so most were not cooperative!) this summer and it was mostly a complete joke! My mother appreciated the effort though! Thanks for the laugh today and the reminder that I’m not alone in this crazy life of mothering!
Precious!
(Love your magenta shoes too!)
I’m so glad you shared these, all of them! I haven’t laughed so much lately, but these were so entertaining. I love how their expressions changed over time, body language and all. It also amazes me how they each stayed in position, none have changed places with another in these. Thanks again for this.
Oops – except, Job, that is… he switched up positions. His request?
Aww…you have a few ‘keepers’ there! *lol!*
and PS…. just wait until THEY have children *snickerZ*
You have more courage than me. Great photos!
Oh, but all but the two eldest seemed to be enjoying it. And those two were maybe struggling over it? Pretty cute, anyway.
Oh my goodness these are AWESOME!!!! Their personalities are pretty darn evident! LOVE IT!!! 🙂
Hehe. And they know it. 🙂 Beautiful children, Ginny.
Ginny, I LOVE everyone of those photos. What a fun series to wake up to this morning.
You, and they, are beautiful. Thanks for the laugh and I’m so glad it’s not just us!
Too funny and too familiar LOL.
We keep telling them that it could be just one shot if they would just cooperate
But nooooo it has to be a million and end in tears. Oh well, your pcs always look funnier
Than mine
you have got to start bribing this family of yours….money, food, an activity or anything that would motivate them! I love the series and they are beautiful all together 🙂 Candid shots are the best but it’s difficult to get a group in a candid shot…
You have a fun family Ginny!!
What a beautiful family you have – full of life and love! Blessings to you.
Oh My Gosh Ginny – these are such keepsakes. Take it from someone who wishes I had tons more of those informal and informational pics. Photos with a story and personality. Keepers for sure!
Love you
Bonnie (Sarah’s Mommy)
I LOVE these photos! So much better than making everyone pose….they are just so natural! I mentioned to my husband just last night that we need to get a family photo done again…it’s been 2 years. He didn’t respond.
I love these! Beautiful pictures of a beautiful family.
Wow, you have inspired me to take a line of shots like this with my kids. They are just so much better than staged photos!
Fourth and fifth from the bottom are priceless.
love the pictures, especially the last few
3rd and 4th from bottom are my absolute favs. Love how your girlie is looking up in giggling admiration to her older brother. 😉 Even better than ‘staged’ shots if you ask me.
LOL – Oh these are wonderful pictures. As we aim for perfection we end up getting something even better. You see the personalities and just wonderfulness of all the kids. I love how your oldest daughter looked up at her big brother with such love while the two next oldest boys try to maintain a squirming Job. Just delightful!! Seriously.
look at them!!! these are great!!!!
Thank God it’s not just my family that has this problem! It makes me feel better knowing someone else has the same issues! It’s like herding cats! Thanks for the chuckle this morning!
