Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

20140506-DSC_6991Last week I realized that as far as knitting goes, I really needed the satisfaction of coloring in the lines of a chart.  So, I picked up my Follow Your Arrow shawl and completed clue 4.  I’m just beginning clue 5B.  It looks like fun!

In an always satisfying turn of events, my knitting ended up matching my book this week.  Jennifer Fulwiler’s memoir, Something Other than God, arrived in my mailbox on Saturday, and I happily joined everyone else who is reading it.  Job has entered the reach up and grab my book while he’s nursing phase, so it may take me awhile to finish, and I’m actually grateful for that because I’m enjoying it so much.  I now completely understand why it took Jen over five years to write her story.  She didn’t just write it down.  She wrote it well.

You are right! Jen did write her book well. It was a completely enjoyable experience to read it! Unfortunately, I don’t have a little one grabbing for my book, so I finished it in two days worth of my free time.

I love the color of your yarn. Lovely!

I’m joining in for the first time this week, Ginny, and I can’t tell you how tickled I am that you love that your knitting and your book coordinate.

I get teased because I try to pick stitch markers and other notions to match my projects…it bothers me so much if they don’t 🙂

I’m happy to be here! Thanks for hosting the lot of us ~ Melissa

I’ve not heard of Something Other than God, maybe my book radar is off ;). Now I will have to pick up a copy.
    Happy Wednesday.

that looks like it will be a fun shawl. I could never do a mystery KAL as I’d want to know where I was going before choosing the yarn. Yes, yes I do have trust issues ….

    Hugs!
