This weekend’s giveaway is from my longtime friend, Summer, who creates fantastic all natural sunscreens and insect repellent. Her little company is called Butterbean, and you may remember her from her previous features here over the past couple of years. Butterbean sunscreen continues to be our favorite. I use it on everyone from the baby to myself. This year Summer has a couple of new products (not to mention some really big news!) that I think I am just as excited about as she is! You can keep up with Butterbean news and specials on Facebook.
Hi there!
It is a privilege to be a part of Ginny’s lovely and inspiring blog! A lot of new and exciting things have happened since the last time we met in this space. The most exciting is the addition of a new little Butterbean in early August:) As the frequency of our family seems to vibrate with more intensity, we are always on the lookout for ways to simplify and live in harmony with the rhythms of life, while still indulging ourselves in the homegrown richness of slow living.
I hear from busy mama’s and papa’s all the time, so I know that I am not alone on these busy days. Here at Butterbean, we are dedicated to our families and so we have developed some products to help people who are short on time, but still realize the importance of quality ingredients and artisanal products.
We are excited to introduce our Simple Sunscreen. It is packaged in a non-aerosol pump spray container that is, well, simple to apply and simple to use:) It is quick, easy and effective. It also quickly covers kiddos anxious to hit the beach. Since it is Butterbean, you can be assured that we have used only the highest quality natural and organic ingredients. There is a 12oz refill pack available as well that is easier on the environment and the pocketbook!
Our other new product is Good Sun Sport Stick. It is perfect for covering noses and cheeks wherever you happen to be. It is perfect for tossing in the diaper bag before playgrounds and sports events. Good Sun comes in a cardboard tube so you can even compost it when you are through!

We changed the formula on our original Butterbean so that it has a smoother application and feels luxurious on the skin. I like to use this as a moisturizer in the morning.
Thank you for inspiring us to make products that enrich and fit your lifestyle!
Warmly,
Summer
Recently, I spent some time searching for an all natural daily moisturizing sunscreen for my face, and just wasn’t happy with anything that I found. Even “natural” products had ingredient lists that I feared would irritate my sensitive skin. Simple became my obvious solution. I don’t wear much in the makeup department, but find that Simple pairs perfectly with loose powder and has become part of my summertime face regiment. Try it! I think you’ll like it.
But even more exciting I think is the Sport Stick! Our Silas has a strong aversion to having anything rubbed on his face or body (lotions, etc.) and for some reason, he doesn’t mind the Sport Stick! It must remind him of coloring on his face with markers. 🙂 I also love that while it glides on a sheer white so that you can tell where it’s been applied, it rubs right in so that you don’t have that white stripes look that zinc oxide sticks often give.
Summer is offering one Small Things reader 1 (3oz) original sunscreen, 1 bug-a-boo, 1 Good Sun Sport Stick, and 1 (4oz) Simple Sunscreen. In addition, receive 10% off all orders placed between May 16 and May 23, 2014. To receive the discount, use code Smallthings10 at checkout.
For your chance to win, simply leave a comment on this post. Comments are closed and the winner is Pleximama who wrote, “Hmmm…this just might work for my very sensitive skin! Thanks for the chance to win.”
Thanks, Summer and Butterbean!

I love the Butterbean products. I’ll have to try some of the new things, like Simple. My daughters face is starting to get just a few breakouts and I need something non-comedegenic.
The original in the tub makes a great baby gift or baby shower gift. And the owner was very nice to reply to my question “how long does it last?” With “just put it in the refrigerator.” It’s a fresh as a daisy!
