Lady Cordelia Designs {giveaway}

4-DSC_2634Today’s giveaway is from Cordelia of Lady Cordelia Designs.  I really love her whimsical sewn sketches and think you will too!  I asked her to share a bit about herself and how Lady Cordelia Designs got started.  You can get to know Cordelia by following her pretty blog as well!

a60b56f46e8c11e3b97812add123cffe_8My name is Cordelia. I live happily with my husband and two daughters in Southern California, where we are surrounded by mountains and ocean. I worked in the music business as a singer-songwriter for 15 years, but after having kids I knew that I needed a calmer lifestyle with plenty of time to hang out with my young kids and be home.

4-ladycordelia2I wanted to stay in the creative realm as far as work was concerned, and I always had been drawn to sewing. I started out by creating eclectic children’s quilts, but one day came up with the idea of making “sewn sketches.” Sewn Sketches are one-of-a-kind art pieces made from fabric scraps. I have many images that I create and each one is unique. Sewn sketches are wall-art and can be framed just like a print or photograph. I offer custom pieces as well, with hand embroidered names or words- perfect for a child’s room or wedding gift.  Be sure to check out my gallery of custom sewn sketches!

6-ladycordeliaMy newest thing is sewing my designs onto clothing. First it was just onesies and t-shirts for kids, but it has expanded to women’s clothes: tank dresses, tank tops, tee-dresses, sweatshirts and more. It’s fun to create “wearable art.” Many of the kids lines are organic and every clothing item is machine washable.

When I’m not sewing, you can find me with my daughters on our little quarter-acre “farmette.” We love to plant veggies and hang out with our small flock of chickens and ducks.
I love my life and what I do and that energy is translated into my work. Every individual thing I sew is done so with consciousness and a lot of joy!

In addition to my Etsy store, I sell my sewn sketches and baby clothes to a little handful of wonderful retail stores across the US. If you know of a store that you think might be be a fit for my work, please let me know!

1f7d484ac01711e3b5260002c9c8f728_8Cordelia would like to give one winner a custom 8×10 sewn sketch “Heart” with hand-embroidered name (or a few words) of your choice. (Colors and design can also be discussed to create a heart that is gender-specific.) This could be for a child’s room, a mother’s day gift, or a gift to yourself and your home!

In addition, Cordelia is offering 15% off all orders through May 10th with coupon code GINNY14.

For your chance to win, leave a comment on this post.    Comments are closed and the winner is Margot, who commented, “lovely designs, especially the heart!”

Thanks, Cordelia!

    I’ve been a follow of Cory for a long, long time. She is one of the gals I visit on-line when I need a boost when my own life seems crazy! (Not that her’s is, but reading her words somehow makes me feel like I have a soul sister.)

    All the best,
    Claudine
