Admitting that you are burned out can be hard, but many of us face it, some of us on a yearly basis (or more). For me, burn out usually happens late February or early March (hey, that’s right now!) and then revisits in the late fall. So what do you do with that? I typically just put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward as best I can, although I often find myself crying in the bathroom until it passes. My friend Elizabeth Foss has battled burnout as well, and she has created a workshop to help those of us who are suffering, recover joy. I know it’s going to be good, because I’ve spent many an hour in discussion with Elizabeth. As my friend, she has held my hand through some of my hardest times. She’s one of those friends who always seems to know the right thing to say. Her words have turned my panic into peace on more than one occasion. It’s no small gift that Elizabeth has poured herself and her wisdom, the kind that has grown through life experience, into this workshop.
“The Restore Workshop is a six week online course geared towards adult women who have struggled or are struggling with or want to avoid burnout. It is for any woman who wants to nurture joy within her life and the lives of those around her.”
The workshop begins on March 16th and runs through April 26th. You can find more information on the Restore website. Elizabeth answers questions here. You can register here. If you look closely at the image above, you’ll see my name listed under the Monday podcast portion. Elizabeth and I will be discussing creativity and the use of this part of ourselves in battling burnout. This is a topic she and I have discussed many times, but I’ll admit, I’m pretty nervous about recording our conversation. I hope that by doing so, we’ll encourage others though, so I am going to give it my best.
Elizabeth is offering one Small Things reader a space in the workshop. If you are interested in winning, just mention so in your comment. Comments are closed and the winner is JennyAnn who commented,”What perfect timing this is. Thank you for this!!”

Simply wonderful… thank you.
I would love to have this opportunity.
Oh, this sounds wonderful! I am interested.
I would love to win this giveaway. It would be such a blesing to be able to attend.I don’t tend to take time to be creative
Restore — the idea seems almost magical! I love the idea of using creativity to battle burn out but am really struggling with the “how” of it all!
Love a chance to win this! I really want to participate. Funds are tight right now as we financially prepare for a surprise adoption.
It can be hard sometimes to find joy in the everyday, and I know I would benefit from this giveaway.
Oh! This sounds amazing and refreshing. I need that right about now!
I could really use this. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity.
Ginny, I am so blessed by your blog! I am in such need of reclaiming and restoring joy to my life. I would like to live my name again and be “a song of joy”!!
I would love to do the Restore workshop! Thank you for the opportunity to win a spot.
I would love to check out this course!
What a giveaway! I would love a chance at a spot. Moving and adjusting to a new schedule has me barely hanging on and this workshop sounds amazing.
This burned out woman thanks you for the opportunity.
I would love to win a spot in this workshop! Been dealing with some late-winter burnout myself. Thanks for the chance to win!
God Bless this endeavor!
I would LOVE to take this! Thanks for the chance.
Oops sorry, I thought I deleted instead of posting my first comment, and commented again, but now the both at the top. Sorry about that!
Wow, I would LOVE a spot in this! Thanks for the chance…
We all need this! Every woman I know could use this workshop. Thank you for so generously offering it to one of us!
I have been praying for a giveaway for this workshop. We are not in a place financially for me to join but I’ve been struggling with burnout for several years now and would love to have chance to participate. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
Would love to experience this workshop. Have been checking it out since Elizabeth first posted but we are on the tightest budget ever in 23 years of marriage! Thanks to both of you for the opportunity.
If anything, it’s good to know others feel this way this time of year too! Thank you for the chance to win a spot.
Thank you for the opportunity. I would love a chance to be a part of this workshop!
This would be so nice!
I would so love the opportunity to participate in this workshop. I am so depleted and lost right now, just had my third baby a few months ago, and locked inside during a much colder than usual Nebraska winter. Thank you for the chance!
Thank you for the chance to win a place into this workshop. Burnout, yes I am absolutely feeling it. Here Autumn has just began and the days are getting shorter. I am a Mumma of 4 little ones and feeling the struggle, crying in the bathroom, yes. I need to try something to lift this fog before the days become even darker and shorter again.
Oh wow, this sounds wonderful. I’m ;prone to hitting burnout too and am not good at knowing how to sort myself out. I love this idea.
Such a blessing. Would love to win this for a friend.
Would love a chance to win. What could be better than my favorite bloggers joining together to bless other women. Thank you!
That would be very interesting to try. I’m definitely feeling weary.
Thank you for the chance to win a space in this workshop. I really admire you and Elizabeth!
Thank you so much for the chance to win. This is just what I need.
February is indeed burnout month at our house. Thanks for the chance to win. Both your and Elizabeth’s blogs are great sources of inspiration.
I would be so so grateful to win! What a great giveaway. Thank you!
Would love to win!
Oh, when I read your post, all I could think of was That is Me! I am in a burn out phase right now. This long winter mixed with spreading myself way too thin volunteering more than one person should, and throw in my my house full of children(and a new life growing)…. I’m tired all around.
Please, please, please enter me in this, it sounds wonderful.
Thank you,
Tiff
Please include me in the chance to win a spot in this workshop. Thank you! I most certainly could use some help in recapturing joy.
Please enter me. Another snow day means we lose more spring vacation. For an art teacher spring break means peace of mind, warm air & summer skies. The thought of spending it indoors with 8th graders who’d rather be out with their friends is enough to cause burn out.
Save me please!!!
I would definitely like to be entered. If anyone else isn’t feeling burnt out by this endless winter we have been having I’d like to know their secret!!
I’ve had my eye on this workshop since Elizabeth mentioned it. I would love to win and could really use it this year! Thank you!
What a unique and wonderful idea for battling “burout.” I would love to take part.
Thank you!
I would love to win this. Thanks
this sounds lovely!
I would love this. Thanks.
Would love to win this -thanks!
I would very much appreciate being included. Thank you. I too really struggle with feeling burned out in the late winter and late November. I read something yesterday that made me think “yes, that is just about how I am feeling about winter now”
“Winter lies too long in country towns; hangs on until it is stale and shabby, old and sullen.” ― Willa Cather, My Antonia
I’d love to participate!
Love the idea of Restore!
Larissa
I am interested!!
Thank you for offering this giveaway, Ginny. It’s such a blessed opportunity and I’ve been praying about it ever since it was announced on Elizabeth’s blog. Thank you for including me.
