This little gown is now all finished and blocked, just waiting for buttons. May I confess that I am feeling bored with knitting baby things? I have lots of projects swimming around in my mind now and will probably not knit anything else for the new baby until I determine a specific need. Maybe more baby socks; those are fun.
I’ve been meaning to read The Dirty Life for years, as it’s been very highly recommended. I finally picked up a copy at the library this week because it was on display near the checkout counter. I am loving it, especially the descriptions of all the different people in the story. The author’s description of her parents meeting her future husband’s parents for the first time was hilarious…if you’ve read the book, you know what I’m talking about! I just love reading about people who are so different being brought together and how they react to each other. I realize that the book is about a couple’s first year of farming together, but these other aspects of the story are what make it so good in my opinion.

Ginny, I now you have nothing better to do or think about than this blog and your faithful, loving readers, 😉 BUT… do you have the time to list a short post of your favorite baby knits. We could all prob. scroll through and figure it out but it would be great to have it all in one spot. I noticed someone asked about your favorite baby sock pattern. I could use one too! I admire your knits so much, I trust your judgement. What do you think?

I read that book about a year or two ago and really enjoyed it. I found a youtube video of an interview with the couple about their work with CSA and felt like I got to “know” them a little better.
I recently read that book too. I was attracted to it because as a city dweller, I long for some open space and land I can plant food and feed my daughter. I’m attracted to your blog for some of the same reasons. The beauty of your land and the beautiful family you have. I wish you an easy few weeks to come. Take care of yourself.

A favorite book of mine…. I’ve read it twice. Something that has stayed with me especially is the her husband’s connection to his local community. He’s not a news buff on a global level but he truly knows his neighbors, I found that very touching….. it seems so much less common these days. It takes more effort to help your neighbor than read the newspaper……

I loved the Dirty Life. What a great book. And it made me realize that I am not cut out for farming, no matter how much I thought I was!
It’s weird I’ve been dying to make some small things so was really happy making tiny hats for the big knit. That’s a really cute little jumper.I hope you make something nice for yourself next time.

I’m finally able to share an almost completed sweater – I’m such a yarn a long slacker.
