My goal for Lavender’s Blue Homeschool is to support parents as they create a peaceful and connected family life.  I write about peaceful parenting, magical childhood, and holistic homeschooling on the blog, where I also enjoy sharing favorite songs to sing and stories to tell.

Most of us have more opportunity to create peace in the world through our parenting than through any other means.  And homeschooling provides a powerful balance point in a world which is increasingly disconnected, rushed, overstimulated, and out of sync with the needs of children.  I think homeschooling parents are amazing.  They’re taking on a big job with love and gusto and I think they deserve tremendous support!

  6. Just started homeschooling this year! My oldest is in kindergarten and has two brothers behind her, 3 and 2. I have been looking and looking for a kindergarten curriculum, but didn’t feel comfortable with the rigorous, classical education models I found. This seems like it might be just the ticket!   17. Such a timely post, and information! Even if I don’t win (which the odds are against), I am happy to have found this resource.

    Financial hardship has driven me to take a second part-time job at a Catholic childcare center, but it has been a blessing in its way. I am able to put my son in the childcare in the next room while I work in the front office (he was previously looked after by my parents while my husband is overseas). He is only two, but even at this early age, I am aware of the laying of the foundational blocks of learning in the “classroom.” This has honed and sharpened my heretofore mild interest in researching homeschooling and its methods.

    There are several aspects to different styles I like; but so far, Waldorf seems the one to harmonize best with me, my family, my Faith, and my lifestyle. I adore the rhythm, the attention to seasons, and the reverence for fairy tales. I’m ready to learn more.

My 5 year old son will be ready for kindergarten next year and I would love to take a Waldorf approach, but while I know the basics of Waldorf homeschooling, I need the kind of guidance this curriculum could give me.
