Today’s giveaway is from The Sitting Tree :: Upcycled wool longies, hand dyed yarn, knitting patterns, wooden tree branch ornaments and buttons, and handmade soap are just a few of the natural products you’ll find at The Sitting Tree, handmade, free-spirited life! Be sure to visit The Sitting Tree blog, and to follow along on Facebook for sneak peeks at new products as well!
The Sitting Tree is the homebased business of Liz and Mike, a pair of soon to be off grid homesteaders, living in the northwoods of Wisconsin. “We share our life with a trio of wildly creative and beautiful unschooled boys, an English Setter called Bailey, and a reclusive black cat who wandered into the house a few years ago and never left.”
“Our business began under an apple tree. I spent one whole summer teaching myself to knit, watching my kids tend their plots in the garden, counting stars, identifying plants, insects and animals, and wondering how I could combine all the bounties of nature into every aspect of our life, including work. I began selling custom hand knit clothing, then moved onto pattern design and dyeing fiber. Customers kept asking for hand knits, but I didn’t have the time to put into custom work. Instead, I started working with thrifted wool sweaters, and fell in love with repurposing clothing and accessories! Recently, my husband joined me in crafting hand made soaps and working with recycled wood. As our family changes and grows, so do our products. You never know what may end up in the shop!”
“Right now, we’re excited to be working on some photography post card sets and adding a few DIY kits to the shop. As the weather turns cooler, we’re really looking forward to be working on our homestead. As soon as the permits are
approved, we can begin building our small home!”
For today’s giveaway, Liz and Mike are offering one winner a set of three wool dryer balls in a drawstring bag . If you aren’t familiar with wool dryer balls, here’s a little bit of information:
Wool dryer balls are a non~toxic & safe alternative to toxic dryer sheets, fabric softeners, and other plastic dryer balls. They really do work! Here are just a few of the benefits of natural Wool Dryer Balls: *Natural Fabric Softener, *Non~toxic, *Reduces wrinkles, *Eliminates static cling {this was a big one for us, and it really works!!}, *Quiet while tumbling, *Cuts drying time in half by absorbing all of the moisture from the clothing, *Fun & Safe toy for babies and pets, *Safe for all cloth diapers. {The waxy residue from fabric softeners and dryer sheets will decrease absorbency of diapers}
In addition, you can use the coupon code: SMALLTHINGS for 10% off of everything in the shop through September 21st.
For your chance to win, leave a comment on this post. Comments are closed and the winner is Renee Anne “I do need some dryer balls…we don’t use fabric softener in our house but I need something for the static. Dryer balls would be perfect :)”
Thank you Liz and Mike and The Sitting Tree!

I’ve been a fan of the Sitting Tree blog for a while now! I love the picture of the Christmas ornaments. I hadn’t noticed those in their shop before. I have been meaning to make some wool drier balls for my self (for the past 4 years!!!) and still haven’t gotten to it. I stopped using fabric softener ages ago…but static is a huge problem for us in the winter!
