That if I show you pictures of my pregnant self, that you won’t use the words “about to pop” in your comment. I get that a lot, and I find it a bit disturbing. I usually respond with, “I hope not.”

Beatrix thinks this one is really funny. I guess I’m giving my, “I’m warning you,” face.

My real motivation for asking Jonny to take these photos of me at 36 weeks pregnant(!!!) was to show off the shawl I received as a gift last week. I’m in love with it. It’s such a perfect neutral shade, a beautiful pattern that I wouldn’t dare attempt myself, and it dresses up my brown velour maternity pants just a bit, right?

Thank goodness I have Beatrix to help hold this big thing up.

Oh, you look lovely. I CANNOT BELIEVE you are 36 weeks. Where does time go?!
You DO look beautiful!
I hated that comment too, because with all the pain I had wearing that huge belly, the perspective of exploding wasn’t very nice!
You look beautiful! 🙂
beautiful mama xoxo
Your are a gorgeous mama goddess. Sending so much love your way! xoxo
Well I think you look great. I wish I looked like that when I was pregnant with my 3 babies…and the shawl looks very beautiful on you with your Vanna helper.
Beautiful shawl! You look very well! I’m surprised that there’s something in knitting that you wouldn’t attempt – you are such an expert knitter.
As others before me have said, you and the shawl look beautiful! <3 In fact, these pictures made me smile this morning and feel a little sentimental about pregnancy and babies. Lovely, lovely!
And, yes, thank goodness for Beatrix 🙂
Best wishes!
aw, you look absolutely radiant!! I’m sure most women would love to look like you do at 36 weeks. The shawl is WOW, I love the color, do you know the pattern?
Gorgeous – both you and the shawl
you look beautiful. 🙂 and that shawl looks great with your pants, which btw, look super comfy.
I see life, beauty, love, joy…and a gorgeous shawl that does indeed dress up those maternity pants. 🙂
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the most beautiful thing a woman can adorn herself in is pregnancy. You are glorious, Ginny. Keeping you and your wee one in my daily prayers.
All I see is beauty Ginny!
Beautiful, and what a lovely gift. You will always be glad you have those pictures.
Beautiful you, lovely shawl. Babies are a blessing, in all stages <3
So beautiful!!!!! You, Beatrix and your new shawl. Love these photos. Beatrix holding up your tummy is so cute! Wishing you comfort, ease and peace for these last few weeks.
That shawl is beautiful. What a fantastic gift. I love seeing your belly! I can’t believe you are already at 36 weeks only a few more to go!
Gorgeous! (The shawl and the mama!)
You look beautiful. The shawl is a wonderful gift which does indeed look very nice with your slacks. 🙂 It won’t be long now. Hope you have a good week. Heather
You look gorgeous! The shawl is lovely and will be a wonderful reminder of this beautiful time in your life. Both my girls are adopted so I can tell you I am so jealous of your belly and your brown velour maternity pants! Cant wait to meet your new little one.
Simply beautiful, love. You and the shawl.
I’m reminded of when I was exactly 40 weeks (to the day) and laboring at the mall before heading to the birthing center. I went to the potty at one of the restaurants there and in route a server stopped in his tracks to let everyone know, “Girl! You gonna drop a baby?” In between crontractions and trying desperately not to be rude, I told him if he didn’t get out of my way I might…right there.
He helped me to the rest room. And then to my car.
It’s amazing the liberties people feel they have in reference to pregnant bellies.
🙂
you look gorgeous!
You look beautiful! I’m 37 weeks and I get the opposite comments “You can’t possibly be big enough to be term.” Well folks, I promise I AM 37 weeks and I feel PLENTY big! People just can’t ever quite find the right words :).
SO beautiful Ginny. You and the shawl! Can’t wait to meet this little guy… Blessings!
You are beautiful! I really enjoy your blog (all the way over here in South Africa!) All the best for the last few weeks!
I love it! The shawl, the beautiful belly…and the sweet little helper Beatrix. Gorgeousness all around! God bless you, Ginny!
You are beautiful Ginny! You are inspiring to me in so many ways. In fact, for the first time in my life, last night I picked up knitting needles and attempted to begin learning from a book! Good luck in the wonderful coming weeks!
My girls and I are standing here giggling at your last comment. Thank Goodness for Beatrix! (and the blessing of humor) You look beautiful, as does your shawl. That’s one wonderful friend to send you such loveliness! Praying for a happy, healthy birth for all of you.
Beautiful! both you and the shawl!!
Beautiful shawl! I agree with everyone else – you look great; you have an almost born baby in there. I saw a friend who is due Oct 22 with her 2nd and she is ready for his arrival! (sjn821)
Yes, the shawl is beautiful, but you are even more so!
The shawl is stunning! And may I say you look very elegant? You do have a nice baby belly. Best wishes for the remaing weeks!
The first thing I saw was that beautiful shawl. So delicate and detailed. Something to treasure for decades. Then it did occur to me that your skin must be almost impossibly stretched, hope it’s not too itchy. Mine used to get so itchy at that point. Not long now, seems like only last month you were having the little man. Your front entrance is gorgeous too by the way.
The shawl is lovely, but showing off your pregnancy should be the primary reason for this post. There is nothing more spectacular and beautiful than a woman with a new life within.
You and the shawl are lovely.
You look beautiful! Love the shawl!! Any day… that is so excited Ginny. 🙂
You look BEAUTIFUL! I always wanted a shelf to help hold my belly up near the end. I guess a sweet little girl works, too 🙂
Looking radiant- you carry it so well Ginny!
The shawl is lovely! You look wonderful- all baby 🙂 I am 35 weeks along (but measuring two weeks ahead), and truly think you look fantastic! Enjoy your beautiful gift
Ginny girl…you are gorgeous! nuff said
I love your shawl, but I love B holding up your tummy, beautiful
You look beautiful and the shawl is lovely. Last time around I had twins – I heard that comment a lot!
You look amazing! Love these photos! The shawl is beautiful and does a wonderful job of dressing up your brown velour.
The shawl is beautiful and so are you!
Beautiful shawl and beautiful Mom!
Love it! What a wonderful gift – the shawl is beautiful. And it is so nice to see your pregnant self!
I didn’t even notice the maternity pants-the shawl is definitely gorgeous and distracting! You look so beautiful!! I love seeing pregnant bellies. And that phrase you asked us to use is so gross. What, so women are water balloons? No thanks. 🙂
Oops, I meant not to use!!
You look lovely! Willowy with watermelon. How’s that? When I saw your “warning” face, all I could think was how much Beatrix looks just like you. The shawl is a beautiful, thoughtful gift. DIY gifts always are.
Beautiful shawl! And you look absolutely lovely… certainly not ready to pop! I’m always confused by comments such as that… do people not realize that there is a human BABY in there? I’d be more concerned if my belly wasn’t large by the end!!!! 🙂
You are so beautiful. 🙂
