Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I read An Invisible Thread this week, and really liked it.  It is the story of an “unlikely” friendship between the author, a busy executive, and a young boy whom she meets one day when he is out panhandling and asks her for change.  They end up becoming lifelong friends, and it is a great story, a hopeful one.

I began the task of reworking portions of Silas’ brown sweater.  I have added a bit of length to the hood and the body, and now need to redo that tricky button band.  Somehow, posting about his sweater last week gave me the push I needed to get started.  I am also working on several baby projects.  Maybe I can share some of them later this week!

(I couldn’t resist putting Em-Em in my photo!)

I’ve added the widget and will join in with the Yarn Along on Wednesday, I’ve seen lots of YA posts lately and want to join the fun! I’m always making and reading so it’s going to be no stretch.
    Thanks for a great idea!

You are much more patient than me! I never rework stuff. I always end up putting it aside and never getting back to it. And thanks for recommending The Snow Child a few yarn alongs ago. I loved it! I had to read something lighter after though. haha This book looks great too. I’ll have to try it next.

This will be my last one for about 3 months. I’ll still be working on something, but I won’t be posting about it.

We’ve been having cooler temps and a lot of rain this June and it has me too pressing into the knitting in a particularly head-on way. The weather won’t last but I hope the can-do attitude will. 🙂 Loving the wool in Silas’s sweater…

You are doing so well on this sweater!! and Em-Em is so cute. Sometimes pets I’ve found can be a real blessing in our lives and in our families; always a point of connection. Sending love from me and my cat Cleo today (she is sitting near by bathing quietly while I type…) 🙂

    Hi Ginny,
It really is so fun to see the pictures for the Yarn Along link-up! You inspired me and I started using the same link-up for my Gratitude Sunday last weekend, so the pictures could be seen. I’m so glad I did.

Good for you- diving in and doing the changes on Silas’s sweater. I know doing things like that can be intimidating to get going on. Your readers are cheering you on! 🙂

That book sounds good. I like hope-filled stories.

And Em-Em makes a nice addition to the Yarn Along picture. 🙂

    Love,
    Taryn

Silas’s brown seater looks a lot like Chloe’s brown hooded cardigan, just way littler of course. Which reminds that I still need to make the sleeves longer for it…
I hope you are feeling better, and enjoying your flowers!! Love to you and family!!! XOXO Renee
