Just the flowers

DSC_3356-1
Because yesterday, five o’clock saw me curled into a sobbing ball on my bed.  Sick mama, some kids not at their best, etc. etc.  I won’t bore you with details.  Just the flowers today, a bit of yarn, and a snapshot of the brief moment I spent knitting on the porch last week.  Much nicer than yesterday.

Must be the storm before the calm as there’s been a whole lot of that around here, too. Heat and humidity, upset tummy’s, cranky…well, everyone really. What a calming breath of fresh air your photos are to this tired gal. 🙂

    Feel better…well, everyone. 🙂

    Hi Ginny,
We all have those days, don’t we? Today I waited too long to eat, got low blood sugar, and well… seeing these beautiful flowers made me smile. I love the way your yarn matches your flower pictures. Hope today was better.

    Love,

I love how your yarn complements those gorgeous flowers. We can all relate to the day you had yesterday – I hope that the rest of your week makes up for it – it’s always so therapeutic to focus on the beautiful as you did in this space today. xo

Em-Em is a lucky little cat and a real beauty!
The yarn is a lovely color combination, and besides needing to be clothed, color is why I knit in the 1st place. And I think it’s Madelinetosh! What could be better? (Only handspun in my opinion)
Ginny, have you read any of Lorna Byrne’s books? Her first one is “Angels in my Hair” and along with “Stairways to Heaven” are the stories of her life. Her latest is “A Message of Hope from the Angels” and it is just that. Lorna was born and raised Catholic in Ireland, and has always seen and talked with Angels and God. I wonder if you have found them. They are amazing books and she is well loved by the World. I would love to hear what you think of them. They are in 20 something languages across the globe.
Blessings and wishes for rest and peace,
    Trista

Hi Ginny – I am so sorry you had a bad day. I think most of us know what it is to end up like you did yesterday. I usually find when I have a bad day like that I have a good cry or a melt down and then feel alot better after letting it all out.

Take care of yourself, Lily. xxx

Dear Ginny, please be gentle with yourself. You are growing a beautiful new life! It is such a huge task for our bodies. It is no wonder pregnant women feel sick and emotional. It is perfectly fine for you to “give yourself a break” however that looks for you and your family. Buy a big box of disposable diapers, and box of wipes. Buy some convenience foods for your older kids to prepare for the young’uns. Rest every afternoon, even if Silas doesn’t nap. Call neighbors or friends from church for help, I live far away from family too, and my church community really helped me when I carried my last child. I know it feels like this summer might last forever, but it won’t…and soon you will have a sweet newborn to hold and nurse. Please, be gentle with yourself.
If I lived closeby, I would be right over…..sending lots of love,
    Kate Talley
P.S. PBS.org was a life safer for me during my afternoon rest. Try a kid’s show for your youngest ones, maybe the older kids can read?? I made 1:30-3:00 pm our quiet time. I turned the ringer off on the phone, put some Vivaldi or Bach on, prepared the children for me to be “out of commission”, and stayed on my bed for at least 1 hour. Try it!

I hope you feel better today…so odd, I dreamed of you and your family last night…Jonny was installing new kitchen cabinets in your place or something…

I had two absolutely horrid days last week that just had me hiding in my room wanting only to sleep or cry. Thankfully, the Lord responded to my pleas for strength, and I feel alright now, but boy, did I ever feel on the edge of the abyss last week! Some days are almost too much.

Sending love and prayers your way.
