I’m knitting a simple scarf, my first time knitting feather and fan. I love it because it’s interesting but easy enough that I can work on it during the day, which was exactly what I needed. You can’t really tell in this photo, but the yarn (Malabrigo finito) is a nice soothing colorway (coffee toffee) and I really like it.
I finished reading My Antonia a couple of nights ago, and haven’t decided what fiction to read next. Yesterday we were traveling all day, and we listened to one of our family’s favorite CDs, the Frances Audio Collection

Sometimes such simple things look really chic. I love the color.
I really like the feather and fan pattern. I made a baby sweater that uses the pattern last fall. I know that one of the ladies in my mom-in-law’s knitting group is attempting to make a shawl using the feather and fan pattern (which is quite determination for someone who just learned how to knit and purl!).
I’ve still yet to jump into audio books, you make it quite appealing!

What a beautiful pattern! We too enjoy audio books. Our local library has a “cyber collection” and we can borrow the audio books through our computer and put them on our ipods. Then they magically disappear when they’re due back. It’s great. We also enjoy http://librivox.org/. They have volunteers that read the books so it’s a little different but it’s free! I so enjoy your yarn along and seeing what everyone is up to. Thanks for all you do.

Wow, that pattern sure looks like a millon, I’ll have to try it when I’m done with the socks an hats standing in line in my knitting bag.
Sometimes, audio books are easier than actual books. You can start/stop when you need to and you can do other things while listening. I tend to listen to Harry Potter a lot on audio because I know the stories so well, if I’m not giving my full attention, I’m not lost when I start paying attention again.
Oh, I love the Frances audio books! I believe that the narrator is the same actress who played the role of the mother in the Mary Poppins movie?
I love the scarf I did one similar last year from a Debbie Bliss pattern it does look a lot more tricky than it really is

I love Frances. Bedtime for Frances is my favorite to read to my kids. I’m always amazed by the number of knitting projects you can produce!

I just knitted this scarf as a gift for a friend. I found it a lovely easy knit, but interesting enough that I wasn’t bored. I love the colour of yours, mine was blue.

Beautiful yarn! I also need to have something interesting to knit, but not so interesting that I can’t work on it while the kids are busy around me.
I feel like the fan must be so difficult. But I am still a beginner after 5 years. I just got into knitting in the round. this past fall. Hats galore and now sweaters.

Feather and fan is fun … and by changing the location of the dec/inc … or the number of sts between these … you can get a completely different look. Fun!
