~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I’m welcoming guest Yarn Along photographer, Larkspur today! She took both of these photos, and is very proud of her work, as she should be.
I’ve only worked on my shawl a little bit, as I’ve been working on some other projects. One, I’ll show you tomorrow, and one is a secret! I am halfway through the second of three chart repeats on Clothilde though, so moving along. I really did think I would stick with it exclusively, but other knitting projects keep popping up!
A few nights ago I pulled My Antonia off my shelf. I’ve read it before. Actually it was the first Willa Cather I ever read, a gift from my Stepmom. If I had to name a favorite author it would be Willa. I am not sure why I picked My Antonia up again though. I am not a big re-reader. I recently re-read Pride and Prejudice, but only because it was a book club choice, and I couldn’t remember the details. I thought that I just wanted to read a chapter or so of My Antonia, and be reminded of why I love it. Oh yes, I remember now, and of course now I am twelve chapters in.

Happy to join you once again. My picture not being half as nice as Larspurk’s though!
Some books are worth reading over and over again.
I am not a big re-reader either, mainly because I barely have time to read books I want to read a first time. Love the colorway you are using on your shawl. Happy New Year!
i love willa cather too. have you read The Song of the Lark? that’s my favorite by her. i think i might just have to reread that sometime soon.
I will have to give Willa a try – I’ve heard others sing the praises of her books. Larkspur did great with her photographer and oooh the knits look wonderful!
Oh what lovely pictures! First time at your lovely blog!!! I’ve just started crocheting and I’m so excited for many projects ahead! 🙂 Happy Wednesday, hugs, Holly
Larkspur is a fine photographer! I wish I could take such nice photos, and that’s a fact.
Ginny, you always choose the best yarn colors. I wish I had more confidence with choosing colors. I am looking forward to your post tomorrow : )
I am embarrassed to say that I don’t think I’ve read anything by Willa Cather. I will have to put My Anonia on my to-read in 2013 list!
Lovely photos, Larkspur! It seems as if the photographer’s eye runs in the family! 🙂
Fabulous pics – well done Larkspur!
xx
Ginny,
I love Larkspur’s pictures.
Your shawl is looking lovely and I look forward to see the other project you’re going to share with us.
Love,
Taryn
Lovely shawl ~ the color is beautiful!
These are lovely pictures! My Antonia is one of the greats.
Great job, Larkspur! Perhaps you can come photograph my project and cat! 😉
Those pictures are wonderful, and so is your shawl!
I tried to get up the courage to post last week as it was my first time joining in, but this week I’m not going to give up and not comment. I absolutely love this idea to combine and showcase these two hobbies even though I don’t knit (yet). My Antonia sounds like a good read, one I’ll have to add to my expanding list to get to. Anyways thank you for hosting your post are always a lovely read.
Beautiful pictures! I really need to take a class on taking better pictures….
Your yarn is so pretty. It looks like something nice and snuggle-worthy.
I love the lacy design on the shawl!
Fabulous photos, Larkspur!
it has been months since i’ve joined yarn along. oh, it feels so good to be back! what a joy perusing so many amazing projects and so many inspirational titles to read. all the best!
thank you Ginny for inspiring me to share the book what I am reading at the moment!
I love your blog a lot!!!
Be blessed you and your family!
More Newbery reviews and the continuation of my husband’s scarf this week! Happy knitting!
I very much want to read My Antonia — thanks for reminding me! Larkspur, by the way, is a wonderful photographer. I hope you’ll tell her I said so!
So excited to be joining your link-up for the first time! What a great idea!
What fun that she got her photos published! Keep up the good work 🙂
A bit more mitten talk, because apparently, that is what I like to talk about. Oh, but I’m going to do a knit along for the Tea Leaves (and Tiny Tea Leaves) cardigan pattern if anyone wants to jump on board!
Excellent work, Larkspur! The shawl is going to be beautiful. Willa Cather is one of my favorite authors also. I have read everything she has written. I would have to say that O Pioneers! is my favorite. Happy Reading!
Lovely photos! Well done, Larkspur 🙂
Love that Larkspur is half kneeling to photograph. Is she mimicking your method? Beautiful coloured yarn.
What a beautiful shawl and wonderful photographs!
Larkspur took wonderful pictures, great job! As always, your knitting and your yarn are just gorgeous!
Lovely shawl and a budding photographer, she did a great job!
Willa Cather is beatiful. That shawl – uaaah 🙂 🙂 🙂
Great job, Larkspur! My 7 year old is joining me on my blog today too!
I love the blue in your shawl, beautiful.
Too funny, Ginny. I just picked up O Pioneers last week to read again. Tell Miss L that her photos are lovely!
great photos! I thought it was you 🙂 I just moved my copy of My Antonia and now you have me wanting to read it. Great shawl and maybe this week you will find a minute or two to knit on it.
It seems that the beautiful photography skills run in the family. The photos are great, especially the second one.
I have never read My Antonia before, oh dear, I should fix that.
That shawl is just beautiful! And I love Willa Cather; ‘My Antonia’ is one of my favorites, too. I haven’t read it in so long…I should find out which box it’s packed in & re-read it… xo
Excellent job Larkspur!
I remember making my way through My Antonia in high school simply because it had been sitting on my shelf for as long as I could remember. What a surprise it was! Maybe I should revisit it too…
Lovely photographing! Oh, Willa…yes I love her too.
I’m very impressed! It is hard to get great close ups of knitting projects, even when you are an adult with finely tuned motor skills. Great job, Larkspur!
LOVE the colors in that yarn! Thank you for another great party!
Best,
Sheila
lovely shawl!
The shawl is lovely, both in color and pattern. It will be a lovely piece to wear! I really want to read My Antonia to my oldest 2 kids. Maybe in another year or so.
PS. Great job on the photography, Larkspur! My daughter did my photography this week too. 🙂
