~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
I only made a wee bit of progress on Beatix’s Bulle this week. My focus was on finishing Keats’ vest. I also bought some Berocco Vintage at my local yarn store today, planning to cast on for a Sunday Sweater sample for the shop. I let the owner of the shop choose both the yarn and the color. It’s a heathered pinky-purpley color. I am not sure when I will actually get around to knitting it!
I am about halfway through Washington Square. It’s an easy, pleasant read. I have also been pouring through beekeeping books this week, especially The Beekeeper’s Handbook.

Your yarn colorway is just fantastic! I’m sorry to read about your bees, yesterday. I hope you’re able to figure out what caused the collapse.
I love the colors that you choose to knit with! I hope that you find some answers about your bees.
I love Keat’s vest… My Master S’s colours too!
you have inspired me to pick up some classics. full disclosure i have like 8 books to read before i get to them, but they’re there. wuthering heights and tale of two cities. i have somehow never read either.
i’m so interested to hear what you figure out (if anything) about the bees. i hear you, it must be so disheartening to lose a hive and really not know why–if you knew, you could at least work on fixing that specific issue. how could those bees not have wanted to live at your beautiful homestead?!!
Hope you got some answers regarding your disappearing bees Ginny, it must have been quite distressing losing them like that. Happy knitting anyway! Julie x
I love Berreco Vintage. That is going to be so pretty. I really like the color.
Joining Yarn along for the first time – and a bit late. I hope to get some knitting and reading done. Thanks for the idea.
Beautiful yarn. Love the colour ofboth. And good luck with your bees. Read you were having troubles. Don’t give up!
Thanks so much for this weekly link-up! I’m a beginner, but it always so inspiring to drop by for a visit.
Good luck with the sweater… and the bees!
Hey Ginny!! I have not done a yarn along is so long. Every week I can’t wait to see what you are working on. You continue to inspire me!!
Hope the handbook gives you some good advice on your beekeeping journey.
I loOOove the Berroco yarns. I hope you post about your experience with your new yarn. I wish I could join in Yarn Wednesday but until this house is sold and us moved, I don’t anticipate having time to work on my blog. So disappointing. I’ll definitely keep checking back with yours though! Have a great day 🙂
I love the yarn choice! So beautiful. I really love Keats vest too. Such a happy color. My son would love it. Maybe one day…
Lovely knitting as always Ginny. Keats vest came out so nice, he must be very pleased.
I think I am going to be knitting one of your little newborn hats soon 🙂
You and your family and your bees are in my thoughts! XO
My first time linking here, love the colors of your project, thanks for hosting this nice link up!
Have a great day 🙂
I’ve been thinking about your bees and hoping that you find answers <3
I always love to see what you're knitting and reading :- )
Love your projects. And I have also been reading The Beekeeper’s Handbook with a dream of honey. But I had my first horrible sting reaction so I think it isn’t for me. But I can still dream, right?
Lovely yarn. Beautiful colors.
My first time participating (well, and remembering to post)! =) Love the look of your project.
Oh that is a lovely purple! It will be gorgeous and how wonderful your local yarn shop is promoting your work!
joining in for the first time (otherwise it’s my sister with her knitting) with a crochet project!
Beautiful yarn, Ginny. I got Washington Square on my Kindle for free. I haven’t started reading it yet, though.
That purple yarn is just gorgeous! I’m sure it will knit up wonderfully.
Oooh! We are thinking about bees…I think I need to add your book to my library list. (They are still illegal to keep in the city, but folks are working on changing that…and George is actually excited about giving it a go.)
I love your Sunday Sweater pattern; if I hadn’t already chosen the pattern & yarn for Julia’s birthday sweater this year, I’d be making one right now. I think it might make a nice spring sweater for her; I’ll have to get started on that after Christmas… xo
I love your knitted wool, such beautiful colors! I can not wait to see the finished result!
I do love your Sunday Sweater pattern – would love to make one for my daughter, someday!
love the color of your yarns……can’t wait to see the finished sweaters!!
I’ve one sleeve and the neckband left to knit on your Sunday Sweater, and the Cestari yarn I am using is a heathered pinkish-purplish color. It looks really nice!
Do you think the bee problem could be Colony Collapse Disorder? I saw a Netflix on that, and what you describe, with the bees just disappearing, sounds hauntingly familiar. Here is an article I came across just the other day:
http://www.naturalnews.com/035920_beekeeper_Illinois_raid.html
Have any large farms nearby where they may be using BT corn or soy?
Lovely yarn, as always! The beekeeping handbook sounds great – my Mum is looking into keeping bees so I shall recommend it to her.
You pick the most gorgeous yarns. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Love your yarn….great fall color. Thanks for the yarn along. Am off to work and can’t wait to get home to visit everyone on yarn along 😉
You always picked the most beautiful yarn! Such gorgeous colors!
The yarns you use are simply gorgeous!!
So much knitting, so little time! Always the way. But I’m sure the urge will strike you at some point, generally when you are supposed to be doings something else, and you will have that lovely purple yarn knitted up in no time. 🙂
Love your yarn, you always have such gorgeous colors:) Thanks for your hospitallity!
The yarn you are knitting with looks scrumptious. And judging by last week’s Yarn Along, the chickens agree!
All the yarn is beautiful! I am using Berroco Vintage to knit a sweater right now. I like it. Henry James is one of my favorite authors. I have yet to read Washington Square but I think I will check it out next time I am at the library.
Am intrigued that you are finding Henry James “easy and pleasant” – I’ve never heard anyone associate those words with his novels before. Will have to check out Washington Square sometime! I loved your post yesterday on Keats’ vest!
Gorgeous yarn all round! I hope things work out for your bees next season. Happy knitting. Jacinta
I wanted to thank you for posting about the Milo in a larger size, Ginny. I’ve knit up three for my little ones and my mother has decided that she wants to knit herself one. Since she is a small lady, I think that she’ll probably make one just like the one that you made Keats!
I hope the bee book helps you find the answers! (I also hope your shoulder is well on its way to a total recovery 🙂
I keep thinking about beekeeping, and reading about it, and putting it off. One day!! Lovely yarn colours Ginny, very autumnal x
How exciting to have your sweater hanging in the LYS. Ginny, it is a great sweater design and I just love it.
I was able to see Emerson this past weekend and enjoyed watching her run around playing in her sweater, it looked just darling!
Such lovely colours you are knitting with. I think the Sunday sweater will look great in that yarn. Loving the look of your beekeeping book, adding it to my list, our bees are coming in the spring 🙂
