I am that girl who ducked out of taking speech and communication in college by changing my major so many times that the class got overlooked by my adviser. Calculus? Organic Chemistry? Those were fun, but public speaking was my biggest nightmare. For some reason releasing this pattern has my stomach feeling exactly how it did on the few occasions when I was forced to speak in front of a class. I entered it into the Ravelry database on Saturday night just before I went to bed, which was a bit of a mistake because then I found it hard to sleep. As of right now, my Sunday Sweater is in the top 20 “hot right now” patterns on Ravelry (go to the main patterns page, look for the “hot right now” box, then click on top 20. Sunday Sweater is hanging out there at the bottom.) I am not sure what qualified it, or what is keeping it there, but I think that if you hop over and favorite it (or better yet, add it to your queue!) that may help it stay there. Of course it being in the top twenty makes me even more nervous. Why is it there? How long will it stay? Who knows. I am just pleased that it’s out there and that some of you like it! I am going to step away from the computer now, pick up my needles, work on something that is NOT a Sunday Sweater, and try to relax and remind myself that this is just a knitting pattern.

It’s beautiful..congratulations! Unfortunately I have yet to learn to knit. I guess too much time spent sewing! I laughed reading about the public speaking classes. I was required to take one for my nursing major. It was the last class I took. We had to do a total of 3 speeches and I skipped the last one. I figured out that my grade would still be a B if I skipped…so I did, and it felt so good! Don’t ever tell my daughters though!
You deserve to be #1 on the list. Your posts and yarn along give me so much inspiration to all of us knitters. Plus your sweater is stunning. I hope you make millions of dollars selling the pattern! You deserve every penny. See you Wednesday for the yarn along.
Amazingly lovely! I can’t wait to cast on! I promised my two boys sweaters this year, but as soon as those are done I am making this one for my 6 year old. She will love it! The pattern is beautiful, as are the sweaters. I just bought my copy and am delighted to add it to my list of Christmas knitting. I know three potential recipients right away. I hope that you continue to work on simple, yet beautiful designs.

Ginny, I bought the pattern. Yeah! Then I realized it probably won’t fit my daughter (I didn’t even look to see what size(s) it was! Duh!) What size did you knit Lark and what size does she wear off the rack?
I knit the 6/7 for Lark. She wears a size 7 off the rack. What size is your daughter? Adding one size up to the pattern wouldn’t be difficult. The cast on and initial instructions would follow the size 6/7. Email me and we’ll come up with a plan!

i too am that girl – i would drop classes after i would find out that i had to do a presentation. i always thought i was the only one… i do love your sweater! it goes beyond the scarves and hats that i usually make, but i’m going to see if i can make it. my daughter would love it!

I have just bought this pattern! I can’t wait to find some lovely wool and cast on for Pip, although i’ll have to finish my current knitting project for said girl!! I think this lovely cardi will be part of her birthday present, so i have until December 23rd to finish it!!

I am so that girl (I took Spanish to avoid speech, and was the last class that was allowed to do so). I have a recurring nightmare in which I’m told that I have to go back for a quarter of college to complete my degree, and one of the classes I have to take involves public speaking. I’m always so thankful when I wake up!
Anyways, congratulations on releasing your first pattern–it’s lovely! Enjoy the top 20 ride! Way to go!
