LuSa Organics Giveaway!

I am pleased to be teaming up with my friend Rachel to bring you a giveaway courtesy of her family business, LuSa Organics.  My own family is full of LuSa fans.  There were shrieks from Larkspur and Beatrix when we recently received our latest LuSa order, a variety of Rachel’s wonderful soaps (It’s hard to choose, but the girls’ current favorite soap is the Lemongrass and mine is the Time Traveler followed closely by the Lavender Goat’s Milk soap.)  My go to gift when I know a friend could use a boost is the LuSa Organics Delight Gift Collection.

Rachel and  her husband Pete live in rural Wisconsin where they homeschool their two children and run their family business together.  LuSa Organics is named after their kids, Lupine and Sage. Rachel also writes a natural lifestyle blog, Clean and is currently working on her first book.

I love the way that Rachel and Pete involve their children in their business:

“Once a week I load my kids into the car and the whole family heads in to our LuSa Organics business space. It’s my one day a week to work on site – developing new products, blending new scents, and making product prototypes for private label customers.”

“Yesterday I reflected on how this day works for my kids. Are they just spending the day waiting for me to finish my work, or are they learning? And in that moment in the other room I overheard Pete teaching Sage long division. Pete took a quick break from bookkeeping to explain the math to Sage, who had been carefully measuring and drawing something to scale all morning.

Meanwhile Lupine was singing and dancing (as usual), cutting some treasures out of paper, working on a puzzle, drawing, and helping me quality check the soaps. ”

I love Rachel’s dream for the future of LuSa Organics:

“I have a dream of LuSa owning an organic farm where we could grow our own organic herbs and ingredients. Imagine rolling fields of organic mint, comfrey, lavender, and calendula. We would build or renovate a small barn in which to distill and press oils, dry herbs, and transform these basic ingredients into our healing organic body care.”

  15. For a while now I have wanted to share my appreciation and admiration for Rachel’s beautiful, honest, heartfelt blog. As a new mamma on a similar path it is so refreshing to know that I am not alone. Every time I read her blog I feel inspired and empowered. I am not posting this to receive the free product (although I am not against it ;). I am simply sharing the love <3.

  16. I would love to try the booty balm on my cloth diapered babe, as her rash is so bad i have been using zinc oxide, even though i know it isn`t good for the diapers!

  19. As a brand new cloth diapering mamma I am in search of natural, safe, Eco friendly baby products. Abyl has been having consistent diaper rashes and I have been trying everything natural to heal and try to prevent them. I have yet to try LuSa products, but now seems like the perfect time!

  46. Ooo lala the baby balm sounds exciting!! (as exciting as diaper rashes can get) we are currently battling one and I have set aside a few of my homemade cloth diapers as designated rash cream diapers… It’s not working so well 🙁 would live to win some diaper safe booty cream!
