Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

obviously I was having issues this week

I indulged in a hysterical amount of casting on this week.  I can’t say it soothed my nerves.  Thankfully, I finished something as well (the Oaklet Shawl.)  I read Memoirs Of A Reluctant Servant and have had Liberia on the brain.  Gabe and I are plotting to visit in the next couple of years.  I didn’t add the book to the photo because it would have interfered with the prettiness of all the yarn. I love all that blue and green!

Grab a button for your post or sidebar! Visit the Yarn Along page for additional button colors!
Below is a linky list if you’d like to link up and join the Yarn Along.
(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back to this post in your blog post or on your flickr photo page so that others who may want to join the Yarn Along can find us!
(3) If you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!
You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!

How very exhiting to plan a trip to Liberia. My sons dad is from Uganda and we too are planning to go there in the next year or so, if money, passports, asylum procedures etc are in favor… so so very nervous about it!

What a great color assortment; nice photo. Your shawl from yesterday is amazing, and I’m rethinking my shawl pattern for that one. I just love hte edge detail. You did a wonderful job.

Hi Ginny, I am actually not one of the last ones on here this week! Got my post done last night lol!
I am so blessed by your website and I love Yarn Along-it makes me keep working on projects just so I can post them! Trouble is I spend way too much time looking at all the lovely projects! Thanks Ginny and blessings from Alberta Canada!

Seriously, Wednesdays keep me motivated to actually work on something, but then I spend too much time on Wednesdays looking at everyone’s great stuff and adding WAY TOO many books to my list on Goodreads.

It’s about time I give the interlibrary loan program a little rest and actually do something, but darn it, I’m in the middle of two series and want to finish them both. Ok, that’s the plan, after I get done with the books I just got yesterday (grin) I will only get the books to finish those two series and then call it quits for awhile.

I have too much else to work on right now.

Okay, Ginny, here’s an idea for you: a big, glossy, 12-month knitting calender with your beautiful yarn photos. My gosh, my heart beats a bit faster looking at all those beautiful balls of potential!

I have the February Lady Sweater cast on and started, but after looking at your Oaklet shawl, you have me thinking about starting one of those for my mom’s birthday in September…

I find doing anything craft related calms me down, when things get hectic.

I’m not doing too much light reading, it’s been busy, but I’ve managed to read a few passages from Coraline. I’ve read parts of that book many times, but it’s nice to read it again. My daughter is reading it too, since I’m also making an amigurumi Coraline.

You have had a lot going on in your heart and mind this week. I think casting on is wonderful if it provides some comfort. And the yarn does look pretty. A trip to his birthplace would be a great gift to Gabe. And you would also get a chance to go. I know Jonny went initially when Gabe became part of your family. Would everyone go or just you two?
