A Giveaway from Springtree Road

I am thrilled to welcome Maya of Springtree Road here today.  She is a wonderfully talented mama, and I am so glad to be sharing her gifts here with you. Maya is babymooning with a new little one right now (you can get a peak at him on her blog!) and while she only recently reopened her shop, she’s already cooking up her beautiful signature colorways.

Springtree Road was born as Maya pursued fiber as both an art and a business, allowing her to nurture her own creativity and stay home with her two children.  She offers luxury hand dyed yarns, roving, and a little handspun goodness as well.

In her words, “I love to knit! Life moves so quickly these days and I really love the way knitting allows me to focus my thoughts and renew my spirit. I love the connection knitting has with the past, but it’s an exciting time to be a knitter now. Independent designers are creating such innovative designs and we have access to the most lovely yarns ever spun. Fine Merino, silk, alpaca, Bluefaced Leicester – each of my yarn bases are such high quality, soft yet strong. I dye them in small batches of 4 at a time and usually apply 1-3 colors for each colorway. I prefer to knit with yarns that have more subtle variation of color, so that’s what I usually dye.”

“Though I also dye other weights, I specialize in dyeing sock yarns.  To me, sock weight yarns are perfectly versatile, excellent for one or two skein projects like socks, shawls, fingerless mitts, or cowls, made all the better by using beautifully unique hand-dyed yarn.  I love what I do and I hope it shows in everything from my photos to my customer service and, of course, in the yarn I send to you.”

Maya is offering one skein of yarn from her shop to one Small Things reader, winner’s choice.  She would also like to offer a 15% discount on all orders placed between now and Wednesday morning, May 9.   Use code SMALLTHINGS at checkout.  Please do head on over and check out Springtree Road!

For a chance to win, simply leave a comment on this post.  For a second chance, “like” Springtree Road on Facebook, and come back to leave another comment letting me know you have done so.  Following along on Facebook ensures that you never miss a shop update!

(and yes, international orders are welcome!)

Comments will close Monday morning, and the winner will be announced within this post.

Thanks Maya, and good luck to all of you!

sock yarn is my all time favorite weight to work with, because of the variety of colors that handdyed yarn comes in and the ease of use it gives my arthritic fingers in making socks, cowls, gloves, scarves and hats.and homedyed handdyed yarns from homegrown sheep are most definitely my most favorite!thank you, ginny, for giving us this opportunity to experience maya’s beautiful yarns from springtree road!
