~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
First, thank you for the compliments on my February Lady Sweater. You all made my day!
This week I’ve been getting organized and ready for new knitting projects and trying to actually finish reading the last of the stack of books that I have been reading all at once (well all at once, but not much at all-does that make sense?)
I’ve organized my project bags with yarn, patterns, and needles for three projects. So far I’ve cast on for Circumnavigate. I’ve been looking forward to knitting this for some time.
I am almost finished reading He Leadeth Me. I’ve been reading it for a year or more…I don’t know why it’s taking me forever…lots to digest I suppose, but so very good for the soul.
And in those lighter moments, I am still loving Merry Hall. Gardening with cats and flowers and a funny man; the only thing this book is missing is a bit of knitting.

I am still in love with your February sweater!! I really would love to read “Merry Hall” oh, the preview looks so good. My kind of book.
Ginny, your February Lady looks really great on you, I told you. And happy new knitting and reading. Starting something new is exciting!
i’m probably too late in the day to participate, but i posted my link anyways. my first!
Your finished sweater is so gorgeous! And how fun to cast on something new. More hats for me this week, and more Newbery winners on my reading list.
Oooh! Merry Hall sounds fascinating. I just placed a hold at the library. Thanks for inspiring me, again! Have a joyous day!

You’ve been such an inspiration Ginny… thank you so much!!
so i am not the only person that reads more then one book at a time
You’ve chosen great colour to your project. I’m really glad that I’ve found your blog.
Hi Ginny! I love the circumnavigate pattern! I actually used it in my post today as a way to show a cool pattern organization tip for knitters.
HA! Sounds like we’re having similar weeks with organizing and ready for the next step, the next page, the next project. I finished up some tiny knitted creatures that live in Altoid’s tins. I’m so addicted to this right now as I type beside a stack of Altoids tins just waiting to knit more and more tiny creatures…
You have such excellent taste in yarn, that cowl is going to be a heart-stopper. (And I still want to read Merry Hall, must see about getting the library to order it…)
You’ve inspired me to give Beverley Nichols a third try–I’ve checked out his books twice before, simply because I loved the cover illustrations, but always ran out of time to read them–here’s hoping the third times the charm!
Can you recommend a basic instruction book for getting started knitting? I have made hats before, and scarfs, but I knit about once every 3 and a half years or something like that so I can never remember the basics. Like how to cast on. Or how to add colors. Or how to bind off (not that I generally get that far). I’d like to try to start again and keep at it. . .and be ready to make a sweater for my son in time for back-to-school. . .. Thank you!
Your new cowl will be lovely and I absolutely adore the February Lady Sweater! It’s gorgeous!
That’s going to be a lovely cowl. I love all of pipibird’s designs
Not much reading these days but “inspiered” by books.
Hey Ginny!!
Love the sweater!! Love the cowl! I was in a MAJOR cowl mood after Gaptastic cowl and then I cooled off…now I am OBSESSED with shawl patterns. I am thinking about trying a really lacey knit…I am nervous!!
Lisa
Pretty color! Looks like the same color my friend is using to knit her daughter a shawl.
I love your color choice! Great pattern pick too…
Doesn’t feeling that organized with the knitting feel good?! Merry Hall sounds delightful and maybe something I would like. The photo I am linking up with today, features your baby hat pattern, the little lacy one-it is precious and will be perfect for my neighbors new little girl. 🙂
*smiles*
Oh! Your February Lady Sweater is just gorgeous! You’re right, it IS perfect. Can’t wait to see the Circumnavigate cowl come together. What a pretty pattern.
This is the first time I have joined in with this and I hope I have linked in properly. I love the FLS and hope to make one for myself in the not too distant future.
I am so gladd I joined the yarn along…now I am so inspired to finish all those projects.
Especially the Penny Rug

My first Yarn Along – trickier in many ways than I expected. Feels great to be finally joining in! Oh I forgot to put my blog name next to my name – showing my novice status there. So it’s Selina @ The Mucky Root for anyone who might be interested.
Thanks!
I’m always intimidated when I see what other people are working on, because I’m still a beginner. Definitely a novice knitter – was so happy that I made a washcloth the other day and almost remembered what row (knit/purl) I was on for the pattern I was attempting. Crochet, getting a little better at patterns. Guess with my niece I better figure them out, because I want to make her stuff – and not let just Grandma do it.
I love that pattern & I love that color. I cannot wait to see how it turns out… xo
As always, thanks for hosting…it’s always nice to see what others are reading and working on.
Blessings, ~Lisa
I am in organizing mode as well – ready to start something new. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful cowl! I’d never seen that pattern before, thank you for introducing it to me. I think I might try that myself someday – beautiful color choice for it.
I love your new knitting project, the cowl is going to look quite stunning in the colorway you chose and Maya’s yarn is a wonderful choice. Your February Lady turned out beautiful and you’ve inspired me to finally knit one for myself 🙂 I haven’t seen Merry Hall but it sounds like a very fun read. Have a wonderful day ~
Thanks for hosting this each week! Yarn and books are two of my favorite things too!
My favourite yarn color. I could knit all my things in it I guess. And the book sounds like a great entertaining read. Enjoy!
I have picked up one of my UFOs, a babys kicking bag and added some color, yeah 🙂
What a lovely pattern! That’s going to be gorgeous.
Now that is a beautiful color – my daughter’s favorite! The name of the project is so appropriate while knitting in the round…hmmm…wonder if the designer planned it that way too? I put Merry Hall on my library queue – hoping to read more when things wind down.
I loved your finished sweater yesterday…can’t wait to see how this project turns out. I can’t believe how fast you knit your February sweater.
Thanks for the yarn along. I always enjoy it.
Your FLS is my favorite shade of green and came out gorgeous!
I love that cowl that you’re working on. Can’t wait to see the finished results.
I funally added a link here — i always get busy and forget!
That book does look fun. I am enjoying the colorway of your yarn. Circumnavigate looks like it will be a fun knit too.
The circumnavigate looks lovely. Can’t wait to see it finished. Jacinta
The color of your yarn is lovely, these days I’ve been listening to audio books while I’ve been playing with fiber.
Wow, your yarn is lovely , it will look lovely knit up in circumnavigate. Have a great day!
Oh, my, your sweater IS gorgeous. Congrats on finishing it and now you get to start some new things!
Circumnavigate is gorgeous Ginny, thanks for the link.
sounds like very organized reading and knitting :)) i should also finish some books, same here: parallel reading of about 4 books… at least i finished some knitting projects last week!!
have a great day!!
Some books deserve more time and its no good fighting it! Your February Lady sweater looks wonderful.
Your February Lady sweater turned out beautifully.
I am planning a cardi for myself – exciting!
The circumnavigate is in my queue as well, it looks like such a lovely pattern. Enjoy!
love that pattern! It’s going to look fantastic with that color of yarn 🙂
Were you inspired by Lori for circumnavigate? Her photos always seem to cause me to add one more to my queue. I can very much relate to the pile of books amassing that I am “reading.” Have a grand day, Ginny.
Yes…I want to knit everything that Lori knits!!
