Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~
We had a big storm this afternoon, and I ended up with six kids on my bed alongside my knitting, so I grabbed my book for a quick Yarn Along photo!  I am once again working on what has been named Larkspur’s raspberry cardigan.  The problem with starting on a project for a child way in advance, is that the child will possibly outgrow it before they ever need to wear it!  I started this cardigan in April, and then let it sit needing just buttonbands for the longest time.  Last week I realized that the sleeves were way too tight for Larkspur’s “doesn’t like her clothes to really touch her” taste and that the overall length could use a couple more inches as well.  Somehow I mustered up the motivation to rip the sleeves and bottom edge back and reknit them with some changes.  Now I am almost back to where I was before: the buttonbands.  I have some sort of a knitting block there, but I am going to get over it and finish this seemingly never ending project this week!
I have had a major attention deficit reading thing going on for the past few weeks, but I am actually really hooked on Pam Allyn’s Your Child’s Writing Life.  None of my boys writes by choice, and I wonder if there is something I could do to change that?  I am a few chapters into this book and am really excited about it.  I am hoping to learn how to motivate all of my children to write more.
Oh, and Betsy is home from Japan, and she has posted some of the thank you’s she has received for all the knitted and crocheted items that were donated, and even some pictures (with more promised!) So if you participated in the Knit for Japan project or are just curious, go check out Betsy’s blog!
Below is a linky list if you’d like to add a link to your own Yarn Along photo.
(**And those of you posting crochet projects, don’t forget to add the word “crochet” next to your name to make yourself easier for other crocheters to find! )
(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back here in your blog post or flickr photo page.
(3) If you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!

You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!
