Yarn Along

We had a big storm this afternoon, and I ended up with six kids on my bed alongside my knitting, so I grabbed my book for a quick Yarn Along photo!  I am once again working on what has been named Larkspur’s raspberry cardigan.  The problem with starting on a project for a child way in advance, is that the child will possibly outgrow it before they ever need to wear it!  I started this cardigan in April, and then let it sit needing just buttonbands for the longest time.  Last week I realized that the sleeves were way too tight for Larkspur’s “doesn’t like her clothes to really touch her” taste and that the overall length could use a couple more inches as well.  Somehow I mustered up the motivation to rip the sleeves and bottom edge back and reknit them with some changes.  Now I am almost back to where I was before: the buttonbands.  I have some sort of a knitting block there, but I am going to get over it and finish this seemingly never ending project this week!

I have had a major attention deficit reading thing going on for the past few weeks, but I am actually really hooked on Pam Allyn’s Your Child’s Writing Life.  None of my boys writes by choice, and I wonder if there is something I could do to change that?  I am a few chapters into this book and am really excited about it.  I am hoping to learn how to motivate all of my children to write more.
