Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a single photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

I’ve finally really begun knitting for the new baby.  Baby knits are so quick and fun!  This week I knit a pair of “shorties” for him using the sheepy pants pattern and Cestari traditional 2-ply wool and I am really happy with them.  Now I just need to knit a couple more pairs.
After months of admiring Genevieve’s beautiful yarn, I finally ordered some and am sooooo in love with it!  I knit this blue baby t-shirt vest for next winter, with her merino superwash, and have plans to cast on a little cardigan soon with the other yarn I bought from her.  This yarn is so elastic and so soft.  I even made Jonny touch it and give it a tug so he could feel how stretchy it is.  (He thinks I am nuts.) It’s just so perfect for baby knits, or pretty much anything else.  I just love it.
As far as reading goes, I am all over the place!  I am still keeping up with my Lenten reading, but this week I’ve also been looking through Little Girls, Big Style: Sew a Boutique Wardrobe from 4 Easy Patterns, trying to figure out when I might find the time to do some sewing.  I am also planning out my next homeschooling year as I am hoping that it will begin in July so we can take extra time off in the fall.  I know that I better get my planning done before the baby is born.  This week I read through The Complete Writer: Writing with Ease and am planning now to use the program with my boys.
Finally, I’ve been referring to my trusty old copy of Herbal Healing for Women for some pregnancy related recipes and remedies.
Thanks so much for playing along friends!
(**And those of you posting crochet projects, don’t forget to add the word “crochet” next to your name!  thanks!)
Below is a linky list if you’d like to add a link to your own Yarn Along photo.

(1) Make sure the link you submit is to the URL of your blog post or your specific Flickr photo and not your main blog URL or Flickr Photostream. Please be sure and link to your current Yarn Along post, and not a Yarn Along post from a previous week.
(2) Include a link back here in your blog post or flickr photo page.
(3) Oh, and if you have any trouble linking up, just email me and I will help you!

You can also join the Flickr Yarn Along Group to share your knitting and reading photos anytime!
