I love emptying a memory card onto my computer and revisiting our week, you know the good parts of the week.

Larkspur used her face pencils to draw on herself nearly every day this week. I think she had some help with her whiskers and kitty ears. Checking out at Target the other night, the checkout girl actually commented out loud, “She’s really dirty!” Personally I would never say something like that out loud, but I don’t get offended easily and just laughed that it wasn’t dirt, just leftover smears from her face pencils.
Jonny got a whim or a craving, whichever, and made yeasted cinnamon rolls this week. They were really good-I mean really good. But, I felt sick for two days and I blame all the sugar in those rolls. I am going to have to hide this cookbook from him. All those photographs inside really compel him to bake things we shouldn’t be eating. Sugar is my enemy.
Jonny requested that I take photos of his beautiful rolls.
I knew something terribly exciting must have happened when the kids came running into the house yelling. I turned them right back out when I realized that they were carrying a critter in a net. Then I grabbed my camera and ran after them. Maggie dug up this little mole and the kids rescued it before she could hurt it. We brought Maggie back inside and took the mole back to the area where Maggie found it and it quickly dug it’s way back underground. We maybe get a little too excited about wild animals no matter how common or troublesome they are. I’m sort of fond of moles because they remind me of The Wind in the Willows of course.
I have so many gifts to make in the coming weeks including a pillow and doll quilt to go with the cradle that Jonny made for Larkspur last Christmas. I love this simple little cradle. It sits at the foot of Larkpur’s bed (and our bed-we have done a bit of rearranging in our house and are now sharing a room with both our girls. As soon as I get my house cleaned up I will share pictures.)
While we aren’t sharing a room with the boys, they still climb in bed with me whenever they get the chance.
I finished this hat today; four more to go.
Beatrix is being a good little baby and taking a nap every day. It’s usually only about half an hour long, but sometimes she gets all crazy and sleeps an entire hour.
I use these little naps to get one on one time with Larkspur. We typically sit on my bed and play cards (she makes the rules) and knit. She has her own version of knitting that doesn’t require knitting needles, just yarn and scissors.
