Beatrix’s first doll and what I’m eating

DSC_0019
I finished Beatrix’s Christmas doll over the weekend.  I remember making my first waldorf doll about eight years ago for Seth’s second Christmas, I believe.  He never really took to it, and it now resides in Larkspur’s bed.  That first doll was made using Magic Cabin’s Baba doll pattern.  Over the years since, I have made lots of dolls, usually using a pattern of my own design, but this time I used that same Baba pattern for Beatrix’s doll, only shrinking it down a bit, because it makes a rather large doll (with hilarious fat legs).  Beatrix’s doll stands about 12 inches tall, and is sized perfectly for her little self.

I am so excited to give it to her Christmas morning.

And regarding food (Ginger, I apologize for this.  I know you are sick of looking at this stuff):
A friend stopped by for a visit a few weeks ago, and brought over the makings for summer rolls.  We got hooked on these things, although they aren’t exactly winter food.  I made a bunch today and do think I am may be starting to get sick of them.  But they are really yummy, full of raw goodness, and gluten free, which I am trying to move towards again ever so slowly.  DSC_0039
The ones I made today contained romaine lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, rice noodles, and cilantro. They were quite good.  Seth loves them.

I am also eating these things.  Here is what the back of the can says:
Indications:  For relief of occasional stress
Directions:  Chew one pastille as required
Warnings:  Excessive consumption may induce mildly laxative effects

Oh dear.  I am excessively stressed out and keep grabbing for these little flower flavored yummy things.  So far no ill effects.
