Myrtle Beach trip memories

I really like Courtney’s Flashback Friday idea!
Two summers ago we took a trip to Myrtle Beach with the kids. My Aunt Genie and family live there, and my mom and stepdad drove up to hang out as well. It was a great little vacation.

This is a ridiculous picture of me-not sure what is going on-maybe Jonny had just given me a bite of his sandwich. Anyway, I just wanted to show Lark sucking her two middle fingers, just like I did when I was a baby.
This is my mom-yes gorgeous, I know!- holding Lark, her first granddaughter (she has 6 grandsons, that is if you don’t count all the adopted kids in Liberia waiting to come home)
This is my stepdad reading a book to the boys who don’t seem to be paying attention!
My boys looking all baby faced and sun tanned (not to mention armed). It’s amazing how grown up they look now, just two years later!

Larkspur, just a few months old asleep in her Moses basket on the beach.

Annie, my mom is in her mid-fifties (hope she doesn't mind me telling!). She just doesn't look it! She was in her early twenties when I was born.

OK. This is getting distressing. I knew I was a lot older than you, but I think I am probably older than your mother, too. In our family no woman ever marries before she is 30 (for generations back, it is a curious thing)…. And even my great-grandmother was having children well into her 40s! It must be because we are an immature lot.

Awww, love the pick in the basket. Your mom is beautiful— you take after her. 🙂
